Digital Photography Club CLIFTON PARK – Adults are invited to attend a meeting of the Digital Pho-tography Club, Thursday, September 6 at the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library beginning at 7pm. The group meets on the first and third Thursdays of the month. This is an informal, member-directed program designed to have fun and learn from each other. The group will primarily be geared to digital photography, but persons with conventional film cameras will be wel-come as they will be able to learn and share information about how to take better photos. The overall goal will be to share information about all aspects of photography, including what kind of equipment to buy and how to make it work. All skill levels are welcome. Pipe Band Crowned World ChampionsCAPITAL REGION – The Scotia Glenville Pipe Band was recently crowned World Champions of the Novice Juvenile Division at the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow, Scotland. Competition was stiff, but Scotia Glenville beat 25 other bands from Scotland and Canada to win 1st Prize. Of eight competitive divisions, Scotia Glenville was the only U.S. band to place first in their division. Maureen Connor, Band Director, was ecstatic, “The kids have worked so hard to achieve their goal. We are so proud to be able to represent the Capital Region and the United States by winning this honor. This moment is of ‘Olympic’ proportions to everyone in pipe bands. The Way We Were Car ShowBALLSTON SPA – The Ballston Spa Business & Professional Association has announced plans for the tenth annual “The Way We Were” Car Show to be held Sunday, October 7, from 9am-4pm on Front Street in Historic Ballston Spa. Our county is a great place for a vacation. We all know that August is Track season, but what can you do after watching the ponies? Perhaps watch some other ponies - such as at the Casino and Raceway, or (for a decidedly different variety) the Double M Rodeo in Malta, or various other equine farms. Trails and walkways wind throughout our area, passing historic sites such as Grooms Tavern or Historic Lock 19 and scenic vistas such as the Vischer Ferry Nature Preserve. Albany, NY (July 31, 2012) –Do you have a love for animals and want to support a great local cause? The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society’s “Empties For Animals” campaign helps support the mission of the organization, includ-ing sheltering, adoption, education, advocacy and the preven-tion of cruelty to animals. This year’s goal is to raise $125,000, in honor of the Society’s 125th Anniversary. To reach the goal, the Goldstein Auto Group will need to collect more than 1,500,000 cans and bottles. The 2012 "Empties For Animals” campaign has raised over $46,000 during the first half of this year, an increase of $12,000 or 34% over the same period last year. The 2011 campaign raised a total

Monies from the program were used to benefit the more than 6,500 animals cared for by the Society in 2011. “We are very pleased to continue our partnership with the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society and support the 2012 “Empties For Animals” campaign. We would like to thank all of our custom-ers and the members of the community who have generously donated to such a worthy cause,” said Alan Goldstein, President of Goldstein Auto Group.
