The Hotel Security Team The Hotel’s Security Department is a 24/7 Operation, Security Officers are trained in all aspects of Hotel Security including First Aid, OH&S, Fire Safety and Emergency Procedures. First Aid The Hilton Hotel has a list of designated First Aid Persons, Security are usually the first point of call and are ALL first aid trained. The Security Department have a first aid kit that can be taken to any location within the Hotel. There are also a number of First Aid Boxes located in various areas within the Hotel.

CCTV

The Hotel has closed circuit television cameras covering various locations within the Hotel.

Fire Alarm Procedures

1. If the ALERT alarm is sounded (“Beep Beep”) The Hotel’s Guest

Relations Manager (GRM) will inform Guests of the area of a suspected fire or origin of Alarm. Ensure all guests within the Hotel remain on their current floor or function area and out of the stairwells. All guests should prepare for a possible evacuation and have any personal belongings ready to take with them. Any persons with a disability/mobility impaired should be directed to an Emergency Response Team (ERT) member who can assist with their evacuation if an evacuation is required. (An announcement will be made over the public address system by a Hilton representative, to inform guests that the alarm is being investigated.)

2. If the EVACUATION alarm is sounded (“whoop whoop”) proceed to

evacuate the building via the designated Fire Exit signs that will lead you to stair wells, you should follow the stairs until you are out of the building. Hotel Staff will also be on hand to direct you to allocated Fire Exits. (An announcement will be made over the public address system by a Hilton representative, informing guests to evacuate.)

3. The evacuation assembly area is located:

IN FRONT OF QUEEN VICTORIA BUILDING (QVB) – Across traffic lights at George Street, opposite side of QVB on YORK Street.

4. Remain calm. Account for all persons in your group and report any

missing persons to the Hilton (ERT), await further instruction from the Hilton (ERT) who will be liaising with the New South Wales Fire Brigade.

5. Once the all clear has been given after full evacuation has taken place

then the (ERT) will inform all guests that it is safe to go back into the Hotel.

• DO NOT USE LIFTS

• DO NOT STOP TO COLLECT PERSONAL BELONGINGS DURING EVACUATION

• DO NOT TAKE PERSONAL RISKS

• DO NOT RE-ENTER THE BUILDING UNTIL DIRECTED TO DO SO

• KEEP CALM

• UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES IS SMOKING PERMITTED DURING A FIRE EVACUATION OR ATTENDANCE AT THE FIRE ASSEMBLY POINT
