CONSEJERIA 972-424-5794
Monthly Prayer Service January 8 at 7PM in the Chapel
This prayer service takes place the second Thursday of each month for those in the parish who are ill, recovering from sur-gery or any other intention. All parishioners are invited to attend and submit names of those individuals for whom prayers are needed. These names will be read during the service. This Parish Prayer Service begins with the Exposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament, reading of the names of those for whom we are pray-ing, the Rosary, hymns, a Litany, and concludes with Benediction. Please call Will Alt at 972-423-9450 to add names to the list.
Sponsored by The Knights of Columbus & the Ladies Auxiliary
Council Business Meeting: January 7 The Council Business Meeting normally scheduled for the first Thursday of every month has been moved for this month only to Wednesday, January 7 because of the conflict with New Year’s Day. Please note that we will resume our regular schedule in February.
Safe Environment Training: January 7 The Knights are sponsoring a Safe Environment Training session for Wednesday, January 7, at 6PM in McGivney Hall for members of the Knights of Columbus ONLY. This session will not substitute for the Safe Environment Training requirement for those in other parish ministries per the Diocesan Safe Environment Training Coordinator. All Knights who have not received this training, or are in need of retraining, are invited to attend. The session will last approximately one hour. For planning purposes, please contact Lloyd Hasley on 972-345-3890 if you plan to attend.
Lone Rose Sunday: January 10/11 The Knights of Columbus annual appeal for donations to the Crisis Pregnancy Centers will be after all Masses the weekend of January 10/11. Please donate generously to this very worthwhile cause. See the article explaining what is needed elsewhere in the Bulletin. The red rose that will be carried to the altar at all Masses represents the lives of the over 56 million babies who have been aborted in the United States over the last 42 years.
Blood Drive Sign-Up: January 10/11 We are planning another blood drive in conjunction with Carter Blood Center for January 18. Sign-up will be on January 10/11 after all the Masses. Please consider giving this gift of life to those in need.
Meet and Greet Knight: January 13 Our Council is holding its monthly “Meet and Greet Knight” on Tuesday, January 13 beginning at 5:30PM. This fun event is held every second Tuesday at Tino’s Two restaurant. All Knights, whether members of Council 6065 or not, please attend and share this evening of camarade-rie with your brother Knights.
Computer Recycling Many parishioners received new computers and or peripherals for Christ-mas. Please consider donating your old equipment to the Computers for the Blind project. If you need information for these donations, please contact Paul Krusac at [email protected] for details.

Flag retirement and Small Electronics Recycling
Unserviceable flags continue to be collected in the flag box which is located inside the Usher’s Room. Small elec-tronics such as used cell phones, inkjet cartridges, digital cam-eras, camcorders, and hand held electronic games can also be placed in this box. The flags will be disposed of in a proper man-ner. All electronic equipment will be recycled by an environ-mentally responsible company and the proceeds from the recy-cling will be donated to Special Olympics. NOTE: Computers and peripherals are not included in this recy-cling. Contact Paul Krusac at [email protected] for details. Special Note: If you see a flag on a business establishment that is in need of replacement, please talk with the store manager, thank him for flying the Stars and Stripes, and ask that the un-serviceable flag be replaced and given to you. You should place the flag into the flag box identified above. The flag is the symbol of our nation and it is important that it be displayed and main-tained properly. If you would prefer not to speak with the store manager, please provide the necessary information (store name and location) to either Bill Ptacek on 972-424-6507 or Paul Kru-sac on 972-516-0659 and we will contact the appropriate store personnel.

Prayer for
the Epiphany
Lord Jesus may your light shine our way,
as once it guided the steps of the magi:
that we too may be led into your presence and worship you,
the Child of Mary, the Word of the Father,
the King of nations, the Savior of mankind;
to whom be glory for ever.
