For some strange reason, the air it produces doesn’t smell quite right. You always think that you will get it replaced one day, but it still works fine, right? This is your ancient furnace!

Many people spend so much time and money on their home making sure it looks its best. Yet they have a furnace that’s sending their utility bills through the roof and recycling dirty air throughout their home! That’s right! They’re probably breathing in little critters like dust mites and allergens right now. They always wonder why they tend to sneeze more when the furnace comes on—that’s why! At Powell & Turner, we would like to extend an of-fer to you. More than likely, you know of a family member, neighbor, or friend who has an old furnace. Fall Trivia!

7 Inexpensive Things to Do in Fall!

Fall is my favorite time of year. The world just seems perfect to me during these special months. I even feel a strange sense of renewal in the fall, which really makes no sense since leaves are falling from trees and nature is starting to go dormant in preparation for winter. Maybe it is because I am trying to squeeze in some final outdoor activities that I feel a burst of energy. So, to celebrate my favorite season, I am sharing a list of things to do in fall—they all cost very little. (Some items on the list are more fun than others…)1. Hop on your bike and head to a bike trail.2. Visit a cider mill. It is a tradition that cannot be missed! Often

there are walking trails on the grounds—make a day out of it!3. Have a bonfire in the backyard. Kids love roasting marshmal-

lows. It is a great way to reconnect as a family.4. Plant some mums and bulbs. To greater ensure your mums will

survive the winter, plant them in the ground ASAP after buying them as opposed to leaving them in pots on the porch. Planting bulbs that will sprout up in spring is another great fall activity. However, don’t plant bulbs too soon. Wait until at least the first frost before putting bulbs in the ground so they stay cool.

5. Gather up the kids, buy a pumpkin, and bake a pumpkin pie from scratch.

6. Make caramel apples. Melt caramels and dip in the fresh picked apples.

7. Go for a nice drive to enjoy the colors, and pull over and have a picnic along the way.

I love this time of year, the outdoor activities and the comfortable weather. It makes me think about football games, apple pie (my favorite), and more time at home with family and friends. However, all that extra time at home can quickly turn my thoughts to the maintenance tasks I had put off over the summer while I was working longer hours. If you are like me, you have a long list of things that would make your home more comfortable.

Like most, regular maintenance on my furnace and AC is on my list, as well as changing the humidifier’s water panel. Every fall I make sure all safety features, ignition components, and the flue is working properly so my heat is not interrupted when the cold weather comes.

Although regular system maintenance is the first fix I think about, indoor air quality products also come to mind and can make a huge difference in your home comfort. Do you find yourself asking questions like, “Was my house this dusty over the summer?” or “is this room a little colder than the others?” Maybe you wonder if you should have your ducts cleaned before turning on the furnace this year. If so, I’d like to help.

Many of our customers are surprised at the positive effect indoor air quality products and services have on how their home feels. If your skin and sinuses feel dry, that could mean your humidity levels need to be adjusted. If you’ve noticed that dust and allergens are aggravating your allergies more, then perhaps a whole home air cleaner, UV air purification system, or a deep cleaning of the ventilation system could help.

I’ve come up with some special discounts that will help make your winter indoor air better, and perhaps get some things crossed off your to-do list too. If you call to schedule before December 31st, 2016, I’ll take $50 off your indoor air quality product installation. That

includes humidification and dehumidification systems, air cleaners like HEPA filtration, MicroPower Guard®, OxyQuantum® LED, and UV air purification systems. I am also offering $50 OFF our any of our duct cleaning packages. This includes two NEW duct cleaning packages we’ve just introduced! These new duct cleaning packages were created with everyone’s needs and budget in mind.

Thanks for taking time to read our newsletter! Have a great rest of your day!

Sincerely,
