LISTENING SKILL

The listening test comprises of two tasks. The tasks are graded according to the length of the task and the difficulty level.

The students will hear a set of recordings of the Listening Input or listen to a reading of the listening input.

Each of the recording will be played twice.

The students are required to answer a set of questions based on each of the listening inputs.

The test consists of 2 sections, and the students will be required to attempt both the sections of the test.

SPEAKING SKILL

Total administration time for the speaking assessment would be

approximately 3-5 minutes.

The speaking test will be conducted for individual or groups of three to four students at a time.

In the first section of the speaking test, the students choose a subject for discussion.

In the second section of the speaking test, each discussion, debate or interview on the topic / subject chosen is held

The students are not allowed to write full length scripts. They may jot down points only that they can elaborate upon during the time of the presentation.

Prior to the day of the speaking test, as assistance to students to prepare for the presentations, the teacher can suggest names of some burning issues.

Each individual/group is given 3-5 minutes each,
