Meetings and Approaching Problems • You will meet a lot of people,
sometimes in good and bad circumstances;
• For formal meetings make sure:- You know the remit of the group;- Read your papers;- Respect people’s opinion;- Turn up on time.- Present information in a concise
manner.- Have a plan: who is speaking first,
about what etc.• For more difficult meetings - Be clear about the issue;- Know your objective;- Know how to begin;- Manage your emotions;- Preserve the relationship;- Be consistent.

How would you approach this?
• Task:Look at the issue and discuss how you would take it forward:- Your timetable changes and your class is not told?- Breakdown in the relationship between Class Reps and
School President?- Inconsistency in feedback that students receive?- There is not enough time between final assessments,
revision time and exams.• Identify who you need to speak to, how will you present it,
what your aim/ goal is and how will you feedback to students.
