As always, homecoming is one of the most antici-pated events of the year. The seniors prepare for their last dance and the freshmen get ready for their first dance. This is also the time of year that each class gets together to make their float the best. This year’s theme was coun-tries and each class picked a country they thought could win it all. Fresh-men picked Mexico and the sophomores picked Egypt. The juniors picked Italy and seniors picked the United States.

Each class worked hard to make sure that their float would catch the judges’ eyes. On Saturday October 17th, every-one got together to join in the homecom-ing festivities. The day started off with a parade through town where each class was able to show off their float. I’m reviewing Limitless, a Sci-Fi Thriller released back in March of 2011. This movie follows Eddie Morra (Bradley Cooper), a writer who’s barely making ends meet. Struggling to meet his boss’es demands, he experiments a drug that he got from his ex-brother in-law. The drug, NZT, allows him to use 100 percent of his brain’s abilities. NZT makes his body more and more dependent, causing Eddie to experience many harsh side effects when he is not on it. Once Eddie was hooked on NZT, he got himself in a lot of trouble. Towards the end of the movie, it jumps ahead 12 months, where it shows Eddie Morra running for U.S.Senate (NY). During his meeting with Carl Van Loon, a corporate raider portrayed by Robert De Niro, Carl offered Eddie an unliminit-ed supply of NZT. Without hesitation, Eddie turns it down saying that he has been off the drug. In all actuality, Eddie had his labs doctor a new pill that will work indefinitley without side effects. Overall, this was a great movie.

If you are interested in making these fes-tive Halloween treats here is how to do it. First you will need 6 cups of rice crispies,

food coloring, ½ tsp. of vanilla extract, tootsie rolls, 3 tbsp. butter and marsh-mallows. After making the rice crispy

treats you have to roll them up into what-ever sized balls you want. Then stick the

KYLEIGH SNOW

by Chase Hartnett

Kyleigh literally loves the color blue. She gets so excited when she sees blue. Some blue things that make her happy are iMessages, the ocean, pools, and the share button on google docs. She also has a really nice car that she enjoys. It’s a 2013 Toyota Corolla S. It is grey and I named it Chloe. She drives it everywhere! Ky Snow was so excited when her mom finally got her a new phone. She hates Christmas, but loves getting the pres-ents. Can someone say Grinch? One time she won a fish at the carnival and shortly after her fish, LL Cool J, died. She was really upset and made a video of her crying giving the fish a funeral. She has been through a lot. For example, one time she was making ramen and burned her hand on it. She reached for it in the microwave and it burned her hand. She got a third degree burn. When Kyleigh was younger she lived in Kentucky, but not for long. She moved to Delanco and then River-side. She had a very short lived soccer career in Delanco and an even shorter lived field hockey career in River-side. She has also been on the white team for all four years of high school. Some traits Kyleigh has that I think people should know about are how trustworthy, respectful and hard-working she is. She goes the extra mile for all of her friends and family. Kyleigh works hard to balance work and school, along with helping her mom with her little sister.

Can you eat a $150 30 pound burrito in an hour? Don Chingon, a newly opened mexican restaurant, located in Brooklyn, NY, has provided the people a “Grand Chingon Chal-

lenge”. The burrito consists of steak, chicken, pork, rice, beans, and salsa. You are given an hour to finish this meal, and it is certainly not an easy task. A radiologist at

the University of Pennsylvania be-lieves that if you’re not a professional competitive eater, then you will not be able to finish this task. Only people that are trained to consume that much

food, would be able to complete this 30 pound burrito. This does not stop the people from giv-ing it a shot. If you are lucky enough to complete the task, there is a huge reward. Don Chin-

How Eating Could Make You Rich

What’s Up Doc?by Adrian Salek

How do you feel about the prohibition against phones in school?

From a standpoint, looking at attention, I feel that students need time away from said device in school. From a standpoint, looking at discipline, it seems that the fight against phones is a battle that we are not successfully combating. Looking at phones from an educational standpoint, I can see that there is plenty of potential in phones, if used correctly.

What is your take on the new addition of a Homecoming King?

I wish we could find a way to add academics into the running for Homecoming King. We have great social programs, but since we are a school we could focus more on the academic perspective. We could have an ad-dition of a debate or other real political aspects.

How do you feel about your Calculus class and do they meet your expectations?

Expectations of the class have been completely surpassed. As an AP teacher I want my students to be inter-ested in learning something new. As a class, the students ask inquisitive questions and are truly interested in what we are learning.

Are you ready for the upcoming basketball season, what are your goals for the team? Do you plan on utilizing bump defense and/or UCLA for warmups?

I expect the same thing as the past 29 years. I hope to have a team that is willing to represent Riverside to the fullest and bring their heart to the floor every game. I want a team that is willing to adapt and learn the game of basketball, and also have fun. As for UCLA, the team will continue to practice it until it is mastered.

If you were an administrator for a day what would you change or add?

Firstly, I would remove all lunch tables and replace them with a more comfortable seating choice for a more enjoyable lunch experience. I would provide a self-serve salad bar to provide healthy options for the stu-dents’ diet. Uniforms would be instituted so everyone would look similar to one another. I would also split the schedule down to where half of the school would start at 7 A.M. and the other would start at 1 P.M. I would also place high tables to the hallways for places to sit and also allow people to eat outside for lunch, with more time allotted for the period. Finally, I would change school to a year round schedule, where students would go for three months and then have one month off in between.

Despite a rather pedes-trian season for the Riverside Rams football team with a record of 2-4, the cheerleading squad held their own dur-ing rough times. Cheer captains Autumn

Perlmutter and Simone Weinstein-Hendryx have lead the way for the hard working, energetic cheerleaders. The cheer-leaders came out every single game whether it was cold or warm, rainy or

sunny. Before the homecom-ing football game, the cheerleaders showed off their new routines and cheers they used to pump up the students at the pep rally the day before.

They enjoyed tak-ing advantage of the opportunity to perform in front of the school. They also can cheer during an entire game and never fail to keep the crowd energized. With the

season coming close to an end, the senior cheerleaders are sad their last football season is almost over.

With a cur-rent record of 5-4, the boys’ soccer team is hoping to improve their record by winning their upcoming games. The coach-ing staff consists of Coach McManus coaching JV and Coach Wilson coaching Varsity. The captains of the boys soccer team are Seniors Gabe Carreno, and

Dom Desante. When asked how he felt about this season, Captain Gabe replied “pretty good. Unfortunate-ly, we lost games that should have been easy wins. But that’s all part of the experience. The team is very young so it was hard for some guys to adapt. Overall, I love the team and these guys make it a team to

remember!” If there was anything that he felt was different about his senior year season, it would be the struggle of lost players, and a lot of position changes. Other than that Gabe’s pretty confident about the team he leads. The team is ready to finish this season with a few wins to improve

their record. This season is one to look forward to, especially their

senior night Thurs-day October 29th against Maple Shade.

The Lady Rams are having a great season. The girls came out to Cap-tains practice, at the beginning of the season, with a great mind set and have put forth a lot of hard work in their practices. To get prepared for this season, they prac-ticed diligently. The con-ference record is 11-1. They were only defeated once by Palmyra High

School. They took their one loss and learned from it. The seniors on the team have also had a very suc-cessful four years. With an overall record of 14-1. Captain Haylee Loveland said her expectations were to win the division again for the 4th year in a row. This year’s captains are Seniors Haylee Loveland, Kenzee Hudson, Jessica Starke, and Kasie Shively.

Freshman, Hailey Russell came out strong this season and so far she has 31 goals. She is leading Burlington County as a fresh-man. Senior Ken-zee Hudson cur-rently has 12 goals and Senior Kasie Shively has 8 goals. The team won the division for the forth year in a row, by beating rival Palmyra. The team is looking for-ward to advancing far in their playoffs.

The River-side Rams Football Team has started off the season 2-5, with wins over the Wildwood Warriors and the Burlington City Blue Devils. The football team looks to improve their

record and make the playoffs without starting QB Jordan Perry. Perry broke his collarbone on a QB run against Burlington City and will be missing the rest of the season. Chris “Do-

it-all” Henderson will be taking over the duties of Quar-terback for the remainder of the season. When Chris was asked about taking over the positions he said, “I'm going to do

what I can to get the team where it needs to be.” Henderson thinks he's a perfect fit for the position even though he has 427 rushing yards on 72 carries. The Rams now have four games remaining and will

be ending the season off at Florence looking to get revenge from last year’s Thanksgiving game.

The cross country team has a total of twelve people, eight boys and four girls. The only senior is Angela Azevedo. The captains are Angela Azevedo, Robert Brown and Raymond Davan. Their coach is Mr. Stellwag and the managers are Amelia Cherubini-and Karla Campos. The record for the season so far for the boys is 3 wins and 12 losses and the

girls have 0 wins and 12 losses. The cross country team does different things to bond and become a better and closer team. They have pasta dinners at the Starke’s house, vol-leyball at Mr. Stell-wag’s, pool parties, make shirts and play pool at Tyler Clark’s house. Raymond Davan said what he hopes to get out of the rest of the season is too win

the division. Robert Brown said some of his favorite memo-ries were getting captain and getting first team freedom division. Angela Azevedo said she feels like stopping sometimes when she is in pain, but there are things that moti-vate her and help to keep her going. What moti-vates Angela is to prove others wrong when they say that she can’t do it. She also goes by a saying

“pain is temporary, it is weakness leav-ing the body. It will all be over once you cross the finish line!” Some of the newcomers Kelly Starke and Michael Keller gave their opinion on how they are liking cross country. Kelly starke said “it’s pretty hard, but the team bonding is great.” Michael Keller said “it is a hard sport, but I do it for the team and to

become a better person.” Angela also said “cross country is a fun sport. We all hate running, but we hate it and do it as a team. Our team bonding is like no other and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. This sport will get you in the best of shape and we have a lot of fun! We encourage everyone to come out next year.”
