A Joint School Board of Education and Town of Clarence Board meeting was held on Monday evening, August 28, 2017 at the District Office Conference Room C, 9625 Main Street, Clarence, New York. It was moved by Mr. Stock and seconded by Mr. Boglioli that the Board approve the following Instructional Staff Personnel Changes as submitted and recommended: RESIGNATION Acceptance of the following instructional resignation: Ann Craig, CMS Grade 6 teacher, resigns for retirement purposes effective November 17, 2017. Jessica Murphy, CMS Special Education teacher, resigns effective August 14, 2017. REQUEST FOR LEAVE OF ABSENCE Amy Stewart, Harris Hill Grade 3 teacher, requests a child care leave of absence from her position effective September 5, 2017 through June 30, 2018. APPOINTMENTS Approval of the following instructional appointments:

Sara served as a regular substitute teacher in the Niagara Wheatfield School District for the past two years. She replaced Brandon Bernard, CMS Special Education teacher, who resigned. NAME: Raquel Huber TYPE: Regular Substitute SUBJECT AREA: Special Education BEGINNING DATE: September 1, 2017 ENDING DATE: June 30, 2018 or earlier at the discretion of the Board of Education CERTIFICATION STATUS: Holds Initial Certification in Students with Disabilities 7-12, Generalist, English Language Arts, Literacy B-6 and 5-12 ANNUAL SALARY: $41,930, MA, Step 1 ASSIGNMENT: Miss Huber earned a bachelor’s degree in Adolescent Education from Medaille College and a master’s degree in Literacy from SUNY College at Geneseo. Resolution to approve Qualified Lead Evaluator of Building Principals BE IT RESOLVED THAT Geoffrey Hicks is hereby certified as a Qualified Lead Evaluator of Building Principals having successfully completed the training requirements prescribed in 8 NYCRR §30-2.9(b), including:

(1) The New York State Teaching Standards, and their related elements and performance indicators/the Leadership Standards and their related functions;

(2) Evidence-based observation techniques that are grounded in research;

(3) Application and use of the student growth percentile model and the value-added growth model as defined in 8 NYCRR §30-2.2;

(4) Application and use of the State-approved principal rubric selected by the Clarence Central School District for use in the evaluations of building principals including training on the effective application of such rubrics to observe a building principal’s practice;

(5) Application and use of the assessment tools that the Clarence Central School District utilizes to evaluate its building principals, including, but not limited to structured portfolio reviews; professional growth goals*; building principal improvement goals, etc.

(6) Application and use of the State-approved locally selected measures of student achievement used by the Clarence Central School District to evaluate its principals;

(7) The scoring methodology utilized by the Department and the Clarence Central School District to evaluate a building principal under 8 NYCRR Subpart 30-2, including:

(a) how scores are generated for each subcomponent and the composite effectiveness score of building principals.

(b) application and use of the scoring ranges prescribed by the Commissioner for the four designated rating categories used for the overall rating of principals and their subcomponent ratings; and
