SOCIETY
49th
YEAR
Selby Civic Society was founded in 1969. Its objectives are to encourage high standards of architecture and town planning in Selby and its environs, and to stimulate public interest in, and care for, the beauty, history and character of the town and its surroundings.
By joining the Society you can help make Selby a more attractive town in which to live, work and visit.
You can join at one of our meetings, or just complete the form in this leaflet or on our website.
Our meetings, visits and other events enable those interested in the improvement of the town and its surrounding district to get together in a friendly informal atmosphere.
In addition, any member can attend our business meetings held in Scott Road Community Centre, Selby on the second Thursday of every month at 7.30 pm. But please check with one of the contacts below, as the date can change.
As a Selby Civic Society member you are an affiliated member of both the regional “Yorkshire and Humber Association of Civic Societies” www.YHACS.org.uk and the national body “Civic Voice” whose membership entitles you to a free day-access pass to “National Trust” properties - go to www.civicvoice.org.uk/about/partners for details.
