garbageray’s trash service, inc., will provide residential, solid waste collection one time per week within the city of franklin. acceptable garbage includes: rags, garden and kitchen refuse, waste paper products, scrap wood, lumber, brush (must be cut and tied in bundles not exceeding 4 feet in length), christmas trees, household items (less than 85 pounds) and household waste. grass clippings are also acceptable.

Pick-up days have not changed. collection will occur between 7:00 am and 4:00 Pm. have all material to the curb by 7:00 am. residents can place no more than the equivalent of six (6) 33-gallon bags or two (2) 96-gallon toters at the curb each week. (maximum volume being one hundred ninety-eight [198] gallons)

yarD Wasteyard waste placed outside may be placed at the edge of the street so as to be within reach of the city leaf vacuum machine. Questions regarding yard waste can be directed to the city of franklin at (317)736-3660.

tree limbs 3 inches or more in diameter are unacceptable.

bUlk Itemsappliances and heavy trash: appliances and heavy trash shall be collected twelve (12) times per year, once each month, according to the established schedule, during the week of the first monday of each month. this date may be modified as needed by the City of franklin board of Public Works.

due to ePa regulations, the city of franklin will not collect refrigerators, freezers, ice makers, air conditioners, and dehumidifiers, unless the freon (cfcs) has been removed and the item is properly tagged. local heating and air conditioning companies can remove the freon from appliances. once cfc removal is certified, you may place the item at the curb for heavy trash pick-up.

ray’s trash service, inc., will collect bulk items along with other garbage on the designated day. bulk items include items weighing more than 85 pounds, large furniture and metal appliances (without chlorofluorocarbons –cfcs). please do not place construction or demolition debris at the curb.

UncollectIble Wasteshousehold hazardous wastes, medications, whole tires, lead acid batteries and items containing chlorofluorocarbons (CfCs). Please call the Johnson County solid Waste District at (317) 738-2546 for information on disposing of these items.

HolIDay scHeDUleray’s trash service, inc., does not provide service on christmas day and new year’s day. all pick-up schedules falling on these holidays, and the remainder of the holiday week, will be delayed by one day.

recyclIng gUIDelInesnewspaper, advertisement sections, junk mail, office-grade paper, phone books, catalogs, magazines, 1 through 7 plastics, steel soup and food cans, aluminum cans, empty aerosol cans, small pieces of clean flattened cardboard (must fit within recycling bins), paperboard, and green, brown, and clear glass, are all acceptable in the curbside program.
