The functions of

the circulatory

systemThe circulatory system is used to

pump blood, and , with the blood oxygen and other types of nutrient rich molecules. This all goes directly to the muscles and organs as fuel.

As the blood gives away its nutrients it receives harmful waste products like co2. This “junk” is delivered to the kidneys and large intestines.

How does the

circulatory system

work with other

systemsThe circulatory system’s most well

known partner in crime is the muscular system. The systems work with each other by the blood giving nutrients in order for the muscles to work.

However it receives this nutrients from the lungs and small intestine’s villi. The lungs also receives the harmful gases, mainly co2. However the other organs in charge of taking out the trash are the kidneys. These kidneys cleanse the blood, removing other chemicals that aren’t gaseous. Making it work with the digestive, respiratory, muscular and urinary systems

What are some

diseases or disorders

of the circulatory

systemSickle cell anemia is a disease of the red

blood cells that destroys them giving them a crescent or “sickle” shape. This is a disease passed on from parent to child – a hereditary disease. This disease is not lethal however, may clog the smaller vessels. This, left untreated, could lead to permanent tissue damage.

Leukemia is a form of cancer that takes place where blood cells form generally the spleen and bone marrow( white cells are the spleen and the red cells form in the marrow). Normal white cells fight off invasive cells but cancerous cell cannot. Instead they clog up organs, no longer allowing them to perform their specific job. White cells also multiply at an astounding pace when they have leukemia.

cells and platelets

What are the parts or

organs of the

circulatory systemthe heart is an organ that pumps

blood to the muscles. blood is a very important part of

the circulatory system. This part can be divided into three parts. Red cells carry the oxygen in a protein known as hemoglobin. White cells find and destroy invasive microorganisms by swallowing them whole. Platelets consist of fibrinogen and prothrombin and are used to heal open wounds by making clotting together over the open wound
