olO&el lets 1.0 ok ba~k awhile 1Ii retrospeot to 1958.

The Mihashi-Otsu Show ooou pied our energies tor the good part or January and February.

We didn't make a hell ot a lot or money on this deal--but all in all it can be considared that it was a sucoessfUl project the purpose tor Which this pro ject was sponsored was realized.

And tor those ot us who had worked olosely with this projeot trom inoeption to the end, there will be "sweet am sour" m.mories that will linger with us for a long, long, time.

Now, the end of 1958 draws nigh. After the Christmas Party tre curtains close 1958 for good. IT HAS BEEN A DELIGHTWLLY, mIDEREUL YEAR!

WHAT DOES 1959 HOID m S'IDRE roR US? THE AliSWER LIES IN YOUR ~!

00000000 • I cannot help but mse at

length on the B-R-Q-A-D MEMBERSHIP question.

With a potential of 1500-~nly 600 are paid-up members-!Uli out of the paid up ~mbers, approximate! y 200 are ACTIVE, PARTIGI:PATING members who are ~arrying the load on EVERYTHING.

What are tre reasons for ~h1s appalling condition? This Ls not normal, is it?

I \'Duld apprec1a te your lIl'ite-ins regarding this ~uestion. A bigger, active ~articipating membership will ~ase the load considerably--~ or sure! AS WElL PS MAKE FOR HOGER Am lETTER ACTIVI TIES!

forms me that BIDS HAVE ALREADY GONE OUT--AND 'IHAT--TSE BIDS OIENIOO IS SCEED'ULE) FOR DECEMBER 29 AT 'IRE CI.UBHOUSE. Interested nembers are welcome to COME SEE.

Chairman Bob has also started tre prelim1narie s for the LOANS. Let's keep our fingers crossed that we will have a bid that comes up to the expectation of the committee. This apartDent building is a definite reali ty in 1959. LOOKING RR AN APARTMENT? WELL--KEEP lOOKING until THE !CAMOKU is finished. SORRY, I can't tell you tha t reservations art;: being accepted as of now.

0000000000

In connection with this project, the question of LIFE MEMBERSHIP has been put f~ again. 500 life membersh ips at $100. per LIFE MEMBERSHIP, would be $50,000 which could be plunked into the cost of the a:partment--thus lessening the amount to be borrowed.

fut with only 500 or so act i ve memb ers right now--how will the :yearly operations be taken care of, if all became life members???

00000000 And in closing up this big

mouthed column for 1958, I would like to pay tribute to the faithful memb er s of the !\tka ruka Parade who have been putting out the :paper physically: Bob Sato, Mikio Tamane, Baa nnada, FralXl es Okazaki, Bob Sakoki, Claude

WOltEN'S AUXILIARY m VB By Janet

As we cone to the end of the year, let us p use far a few moments to count our blessings, review our accomplishments, meditate upon our unfinished business, and finally, to plan for the New Year.

In reviewing our accomplishments for the year, a number of things stand out. Foremost in my mind is the epir1 t of loyalty, teamwork, and devotion to continue the auxiliary whatever the cost, by the ladies of the Club 100. With such undying spirit, the Auxiliary can look forward to greater aocomplishments in the year ahead.

The year has been a rough one~ We have had our difference of opinions, heated discussions around the aonferellC e table, but through it all we have energed still friends, perhaps a little wider, but best of all united in our thoughts of continuing tm auxiliary and vuorking towards a bigger and stronger organization in 1959. It is truly gratifying to see so many of the lad:1e s gi vi~ eo generously or the spiritual qualit:1es v.hich no

organization can do without. May this spirit always be prevalent among our membership!

The Officers of the Auxiliary join me in extendins to all of you a very I4er;ry . Ohristmas and car loads of BEST WISHES for a VERY HAPPY .AID PROSFEROUS NEW YEAR~
