S The PepsiCo Foundation has granted Clean Up Australia $650,000 to
help educate consumers on the importance of soft plastic recovery and
recycling in Australia. In February, PepsiCo Australia in partnership
with Clean Up Australia and REDcycle, launched Greening the Green,
a 12-week program with 110 local sporting facilities across the country.
This program is designed to improve existing waste management and
resource recovery by changing behaviour and providing better waste
management resources.
Upon successful completion of the 12-week program, participating
sporting facilities will receive equipment made from recycled plastic,
such as table settings and benches made by Replas — Australia’s
leading manufacturers of products made from soft plastics.
TRaCE is a new circular economy program developed by REDgroup,
designed to facilitate the increased use of products containing recycled
content. The program will build and support resilient end markets for
products containing recycled packaging materials, starting with soft
plastic. Participants in the program support the pull through of material
by making annual commitments to buy products containing recycled
content from TRaCE partner manufacturers.
TRaCE verifi es the origin and movement of materials through the
supply chain while also providing structure to enable stakeholders to
actively participate in the circular economy in a measurable way.

LULULEMON
“We were really excited to be able to buy back our soft plastics in the form of loungers and a picnic
setting to be set up at our Distribution Centre. Finding a circular model for our soft plastics is a great
option and it is something we look for. Being able to know that your plastic is sent to a reputable
company to be made into another product, is a huge win.”

MARS PETCARE
Albury City Council and Mars Petcare joined forces to create a haven for dogs and their owners in
East Albury. Mars Australia provided a fi nancial contribution and 40 Mars team-members worked to
install dog agility equipment, and 8 recycled-plastic seats from Replas.
“This has been a very positive partnership to provide great facilities for dog owners across the city.”

SIMPLOT
“We chose to buy back picnic tables and bench seats to play our part in the circular economy.”
“Simplot visited Replas and saw the great work turning plastic material that traditionally went to landfi ll
but are now recycled into reusable and practical products. Our factory saw an opportunity to buy back
some of the plastic that may very well may have originally come from our factory. We intend to
continue to reduce our plastic impact on the environment by eliminating waste plastic. Thank you
Replas for an option for us to continue to put more products back, our employees have welcomed this
initiative and is a positive talking point at our work breaks.”
- Anthony Mee, Safety, Health, Environment and Well-Being Manager at Simplot Australia

WOOLWORTHS
Woolworths are leading the way to ‘Close the Loop’
by purchasing recycled plastic products to be used
in their stores and car parks. Most noticably are the
Replas seats for customers that are placed in the
front of stores all across the country. Woolworths
include a plaque or routed text on their seats to
send a clear message that says ‘Our very green
bench, made from 98% recycled plastics’.
Recycled-plastic Wheel Stops have also been
installed by ADCO Constructions. “It is excellent to
see Woolworths waste being used as Wheel Stops.
The quality of each is quite impressive since the
refl ectors have been recessed in, so over time the
car tyres will not come into contact with the
refl ector. Thus, making it last many years longer.”
