FAST AND ABSTINENCE

Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are obligatory

days of fasting and abstinence for Catholics. In

addition, Fridays during Lent are obligatory days

of abstinence.

The Law of Abstinence requires a Catholic 14

years of age until death to abstain from eating

meat on Fridays in honor of the Passion of Jesus

on Good Friday.

The Law of fasting requires a Catholic from the

18th birthday to the 59th birthday, to reduce the

amount of food eaten from normal. The Church

defines this as one meal a day, and two smaller

meals which if added together would not exceed

the main meal in quantity. No snacks or eating

between meals allowed. Such fasting is obliga-

tory on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.

Those who are excused from fast or abstinence,

besides those outside the age limits: the sick, the

frail, pregnant or nursing women, according to

need for meat or nourishment.

Divine Intimacy

When the soul in the tribunal of penance has only venial sins to confess, it is not necessary that it pre-occupy itself with confessing all of them, either as to their number or their kind. This completeness is necessary only when there is question of mortal sin. In other cases, however, it is much more profitable to fix the attention on deliberate—even if they are only simple imperfections—telling not only the faults themselves but also the motives behind them. Although this method is not required for the validity of the confession, it is certain that the soul will draw much profit from it since the accusation will have exposed the root of the evil. The soul will benefit too by its act of humility. Which will be a stimulus to deeper repentance and will arouse in it a more ar-dent desire to amend its life, for this is the logical result of considering the motives —usually not noble ones!—from which our faults arise. Furthermore, an accusation of this kind helps the confessor to have a better knowledge of the penitent’s weak points, and to suggest the most suitable remedies, a matter of special importance when direction is given with con-fession. In addition to its accusation the soul must also occu-py itself with sorrow for its sins because they offend God, who is infinite Goodness. This is should be a sorrow ex amore, springing from love, the repent-ance of the child who is more disconsolate over the displeasure given to a father who loves it so much and to whom it should return love for love, than over the thought of its guilt and the punishment it deserves. For the validity of the sacrament, sorrow is necessary; if it is lacking, the absolution will be null. However, the more perfect the contrition, the more effectively will be absolution erase not only the sin but also the temporal punishment which it has incurred. The Blood of Jesus will purify, renew, and enrich the heart of the penitent with fortitude, charity, and grace, in the measure of his contrition.

które pada w ziemię i obumiera by wydać plon obfity (J 12, 24). Zapraszasz nas byśmy kroczyli za Tobą tą drogą,

gdy mówisz: „Ten, kto kocha swoje życie, traci je, a kto nienawidzi swego życia na tym świecie, zachowa je

na życie wieczne (J 12, 25). […] Pomóż nam [w tym Wielkim Poście] towarzyszyć Ci

ZAPISY PONOWNE (uczniów kontynuujących naukę w naszym programie)

Forma ponownego zapisu dla uczniów klas: I-VII na rok szkolny 2021-2022 zostanie zamieszczona na naszej parafialnej stronie internetowej na początku marca (olacopiague.org). Prosimy o: 1.Wypełnienie formy 2. Nadesłanie pocztą lub przyniesienie formy wraz z opłatą do naszego biura najpóźniej do 31 marca.

Opłaty można dokonać gotówką, czekiem lub przekazem pieniężnym (money order):

-Indywidualnie (1 dziecko) $150 -Dwoje dzieci $185 -Rodzina (3 lub więcej dzieci) $215

-Przygotowanie do przyjęcia sakramentu (opłata do- datkowa): *Pierwsza Komunia Święta (klasa II i Prep 2) : $60 (tj. opłata za fotografa i materiały przygotowawcze), *Bierzmowanie (klasa VIII): $90 (opłata za materiały, rekolekcje, strój na uroczystość).

Opłata za spóźnienie $35 będzie doliczana przy wszystkich zapisach dokonywanych (otrzymanych pocztą) 1 kwietnia lub później.

UCZNIOWIE KLAS I oraz UCZNIOWIE NOWI zapisywani po raz pierwszy do naszego programu muszą zostać zapisani osobiście. Rodzice uczniów muszą wypełnić specjalną formę zapisu i dokonać opłaty. Rodzice uczniów MUSZĄ przynieść ze sobą wszystkie wymagane dokumenty:

*Akt Urodzenia Dziecka *Metrykę Chrztu Dziecka Żaden NOWY uczeń nie zostanie zapisany bez METRYKI CHRZTU. *Jeżeli dziecko przyjęło już sakrament Eucharystii (Pierwsza Komunia Św.), to wówczas prosimy o przyniesienie zaświadczenia potwierdzającego przyjęcie tego sakramentu.

OFIARY NA ODBUDOWĘ NASZEGO AUDYTORIUM I KOŚCIOŁA PO POŻARZE– Rozesłaliśmy do naszych parafian 3572 listy podpisane przez ks Dariusza oraz formy do zadeklarowa- nia kwoty, jaką mogliby Państwo złożyć jako ofiarę na od- budowę naszego audytorium. Prosimy wszystkich, którzy jeszcze nie zwrócili do nas wypełnionych form, o uczynie- nie tego najszybciej jak to możliwe. Dodatkowe (duże) formy wraz ze specjalnymi kopertami zostały wyłożone przy głównym wejściu do kościoła oraz do sali gimnastycznej. Jeżeli zadeklarowali już Państwo kwotę i chcieli- byście dokonać wpłaty, to prosimy o wypełnienie (małej) formy Auditorium Restoration Payment Form (również wyło- żone w kościele i w sali gimnastycznej). Formy są również dostępne w kancelarii parafialnej. Prosimy, aby nie uży- wać czerwonych kopert (Auditorium Fire Restoration). Po- może nam to w poprawnym księgowaniu ofiarowanych kwot.
