Lord, You invite all who are burdened to come to

you. Allow Your healing hand to heal them. Touch their soul with Your com-passion for others. Touch

their Heart with Your courage and infinite love for all. Touch their mind

with Your wisdom, that their mouth may always proclaim Your praise. Teach them to reach out to You in their need, and help them to lead others to You by example. Most loving Heart of Jesús, bring them health in body and spirit that they may serve You with all their strength. Touch gently these lives which You have created, now and forever. Amen.

Gospel: lucas 7:11B-17 Have you noticed how all the readings today speak of feed-ing people? Our gospel story shows us Jesus and the Twelve surrounded by a huge, hungry crowd. When the Twelve protest that they cannot feed everyone, Jesus has them divide the crowd into smaller groups. Then he takes what they have and five loaves, two fishes and gives thanks

(blesses the food), breaks it, and invites the disciples to pass it around and share it. There is more than enough for everyone! We can, of course, see this story as a sign of the Eucharist, in which Jesus continues to feed the multitude of his followers. But we can also see it as a chal-lenge to do what we can to feed the millions of hungry people in our world today. 1.)Can we accept the challenge to share with others in need, even if what we have to share seems small and insignificant?

Administrator’s Corner for Parish Bulletin: June 9, 2013 (10th Sunday of the Year – C)

Why are the Precepts of the Church our Catholic job description? To help us give God our very best, the Catholic Church has outlined responsibilities that will help us grow in love of God and each other. Keep every Sunday holy. “The Sunday celebration of the Lord's Day

and his Eucharist is at the heart of the Church's life” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2177). It’s vital that we worship God at Mass each Sunday and Holy Day of Obligation (unless unavoidably prevented).

Confess at least once a year. Few humans can go an entire year with-out committing a serious sin. Turn to the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Receive Communion at least during the Easter season. Prepared by the Sacrament of Reconciliation, receive the Eucharist as often as

possible but especially during the Easter season. Fast and abstain. To help us control appetites of all kinds, the Church

established times of penance when fasting and abstinence help us focus on God.

Provide for the Church. To keep our Church healthy and strong, we each must care for her and contribute what we can.

God bless you,

Fr. Alex

Alex
