The obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and holy days of obligation CONTINUES TO BE LIFTED. You are not required to attend Mass at this time. You are encouraged to keep the Lord’s Day holy with prayer and reflection along with a possible viewing of a livestream celebration of Mass. Going to Mass Online? Here are some tips:
UNITE WITH OTHERS. It's better not to follow the Mass alone, so try to do so with your family, or with at least one other family member. When everyone's focus is united, it's easier to concentrate. Choose the Mass time that best suits everyone's schedule, and make it a family event of the day. CREATE THE RIGHT SETTING. Take care of the atmosphere in the room. For example, you could put a cross or an image of Our Lady near your TV or computer, and light a candle or two if you have some. GET DRESSED. Dress for the occasion: you might be at home, but leave the pajamas for bedtime. GO THROUGH THE MOTIONS. Try to attend the Mass as if you were in your parish, standing when the Gospel is read, sitting down during the offertory, kneeling during the consecration, etc. These gestures are full of meaning. PRAY AN ACT OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION. Although you can't receive Jesus in the Eucharist, you can pray a spiritual communion.
A PRAYER by St. Alphonsus Maria de Liguori My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen
WHAT'S THE RUSH? Don't be in a hurry. The Mass has incredible value, and right now there are so many things to pray for. Stay for a few moments after Mass has ended to pray for everyone: the deceased, the sick, health professionals, government officials and, of course, the Church, the Pope, our bishops and your parish community.
The PARISH OFFICE is open for business, we ask that if you are able to please call the office and place your order for giftcards or mass cards before coming to the office and remember to wear your mask!

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS FALL 2019 – EASTER 2020
R.C.I.A. is the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. Through this process, we hope to be able to meet the needs of people 16 years of age or older. If you know of anyone who could answer yes to any of the above questions, perhaps you could extend an invitation to them. If you are interested and have questions, or would like to register, please call the rectory office at 610-497-3340. There is no cost for the R.C.I.A. program and all materials will be provided.
Let’s be honest. If we are striving to live the stewardship way of life, it’s not going to be easy. Dying to self and living for Christ and others is tough. It’s the work of a lifetime. But in the end, it’s the only work that really matters and the only life that truly satisfies. Our Gospel passage, from Matthew, reflects this challenging reality. Jesus tells His disciples, “Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross and follow me.” This sounds harsh. Why would anyone want to do this? Our Lord has the answer, of course. “Whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.” It’s all about love. Jesus loved (and loves) us totally, giving us all of Himself on the Cross, in His Word, and in the Sacraments, especially the Eucharist. And so we must choose: love of self, or love of God and others — which is tough, but fulfilling and leads to the eternal reward of heaven. Jesus promises that He “will come with his angels in his Father’s glory and then he will repay all according to his conduct.” Let us make the tough choice to lose our life for Christ’s sake in grateful response to His love. Honestly, what better life could there be?
