Some random thoughts by the pastor…

There have been 'mes when I have found that I have not expressed my gra'tude. When this happens, it seems to me that the giL (whatever it may be) isn’t real. Recognizing and acknowledging that we have received something that we have not earned (which is the defini'on of ‘giL’) helps us to see beyond ourselves. Life doesn’t start and end with us, nor do we deserve everything that we receive, nor are meant to deserve everything that we receive. Salva'on (life eternal), for example, is a giL. No one can earn it. It is given freely and we can only receive it freely. God is good.

Parish updates: The bathrooms in the (former) school building have had new floors installed. We are grateful to Steve Shirley (maintenance) who was able to remove and replace the toilets in each of the bathrooms. We have signed a contract to have the front doors of the church replaced. More details once they have been installed.

I am looking for several parishioners who would be willing to serve on the Parish Advisors commiJee. The commiJee meets about seven 'mes per year. The purpose for the commiJee is to give updates on the ministries in CTK, and to offer advice to me regarding the direc'on of the Parish. I will oLen use the commiJee as a ‘sounding board’, and moving forward the Parish Advisors will be instrumental in the 3-5 year process that has been ini'ated to have Saint Mary Parish, Saints John & James Parish, and CTK to work more closely together and eventually combine. If you are interested and willing to accept this challenge, please see me aLer Mass, or give the office a call (401.821.9228).
