Christmas EyeballsAn Aunt Gram Story

Christmas 2008

Page 2: Christmas Eyeballs

Christmas was comingIn a day or two,

The toys were not ready. What to do? What to do?

Page 3: Christmas Eyeballs

Elves were in a tizzyWorking ‘round the clock,While the famous “List”

Sat under a rock.

Page 4: Christmas Eyeballs

Who would help checkThe Naughty/Nice List?

Who would make certainThat no one was missed?

Page 5: Christmas Eyeballs

The elves strained their brainsTo think of a plan.

Then in a flash One screamed “I can!”

You can do what? They all wanted to know.“Get Christmas helpersSo the sleigh can go.”

Page 6: Christmas Eyeballs

Listen to my plan—

Another pair of eyes,

Squirreled away

Behind a disguise.

Page 7: Christmas Eyeballs

Eyes see things

Hidden from view,

Big blue bug eyes

Stare right through.

Page 8: Christmas Eyeballs

Eyes could be sleeping

Or deep in thought,

Or maybe just hoping

Not to get caught!

Page 9: Christmas Eyeballs

To be Santa’s helper

You must be alert,

You must climb stairs

And wear a shirt.

Page 10: Christmas Eyeballs

The best way to see,

As everyone knows-

Squench your eyes

And crinkle your nose!

Page 11: Christmas Eyeballs

Some take it all in—

No detail missed.

Others drink dog water

And want to be kissed.

Page 12: Christmas Eyeballs

Children may be found

Making angels in the snow,

Or wearing a turban

And putting on a show.

Page 13: Christmas Eyeballs

Naughty/nice children

Are regular folks.

They chase lizards

And pet baby goats.

Page 14: Christmas Eyeballs

Should we watch dogs?

What about those?

What about him

And his squishy nose?

Page 15: Christmas Eyeballs

What about pirates

Or computer nerds?

Naughty or nice?

Or just strange birds?

Page 16: Christmas Eyeballs

He’s up to something,That look means

trouble.

She’s wide openAnd ready to rumble.

Page 17: Christmas Eyeballs

Are you naughty or nice

If you’re a boo pie like me?

What about pollywogs?

I think there are 3.

Page 18: Christmas Eyeballs

Look high and lowAnd straight ahead.Naughty childrenWon’t be in bed.

Page 19: Christmas Eyeballs

Let’s be direct—

Santa’s a good fellow.

He doesn’t care

If your nose is yellow.

Page 20: Christmas Eyeballs

What if we’re naughtyOnce in a while?Hmmm, said the elf,And then he smiled.

All are naughtyEvery now and then.Say you’re sorryAnd begin again.

Page 21: Christmas Eyeballs

If eyes are indeed

The window to the soul,

What do you reckon

These have foretold?

Page 22: Christmas Eyeballs

Those extra eyeballsGot the job done,

Names were checked twice,Each and every one.

Page 23: Christmas Eyeballs

The sleigh was ready

To deliver toys

Page 24: Christmas Eyeballs

To beautiful baby girls

Page 25: Christmas Eyeballs
