Attention State Fair Dairy Exhibitors (PAST and PRESENT) Would You Like To Make a Donation

To help rebuild the State Fair Display Board and Storage Barn? Clark County State Fair Dairy team promotes Clark County and the Dairy Industry. Two members of the dairy team plan to construct the barn and the cost for materials is about $500.

The storage “barn” houses all the tack and promotional materials needed during the state fair. Over 1100 pieces of educational material is handed out by our dairy team ALONE! In addition, Clark County has won State Fair herdsmanship multiple years in a row (not an easy accomplishment).

Contact Lori at 715-743-5122 /[email protected]

if you would like to donate.

Summer 4-H Softball If you have 4-H members that want to play we have clubs needing more players to make their A, B, or C squad whole. Give Lori a call and let her know how many and what age of youth you have so we can put you in contact with another club to start practices.

FIRST OR SECOND YEAR SWINE PROJECT MEMBER AGES 9 TO 18

Check your emails—swine project members were sent information on a opportunity to win 1 of 5 $100 awards for participating in the swine project.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Thurman A. Craig Scholarship Administered by the Clark County Holstein Association

Application is located online at: http://clark.uwex.edu/thurman-a-craig-scholarship/ DUE May 12

Changes to the Livestock Sale program! 1. To sell in the livestock sale, participants must attend 3 educational programs. Seniors and first year college

students are exempt. 2. The carcass show is CHANGED to Wednesday, August 16th. There will be two sessions that evening and

tentative times are at 7:15 and 8:00 p.m. The carcass show will be held at Pinter's Packaging Plant in Dorchester.

3. Hewitt's Meats will no longer process our market sale animals. As a result, the livestock sale committee is

working with local butcher shops to process our approximate 180 sale animals. All market sale animals (beef, sheep, and swine) will go to the following butcher shops:

Pinter's Packaging Plant in Dorchester Martin's Meats Processing in Withee Smith Brother's Meats in Colby Augusta Meats in Augusta Custom Meats in Marathon

4. All non-sale animals will need to be taken home after the fair unless the exhibitor makes prior arrangements. Non-sale animals may still be sent to the sale barns. However, if the exhibitor wants to butcher their non-sale animal, prior arrangements with a butcher shop must be done in advance at least a couple of months before the fair. More details will be sent to exhibitors via a letter.

5. Butchering options for the poultry and rabbits exhibitors will remain the same as last year. 6. Questions and concerns may be addressed to committee chairs and the livestock executive committee.

Hello Hollar Here, You may have noticed this CloverLeaf is thicker. CloverLeaf’s that remain at 12 pages are easier to fold and send. But when the CloverLeaf gets to 14, 16, 18, and EVEN 20 pages the folding and the stuffing takes a toll. I have written an ODE to my CloverLeaf folders: (Read loud and stern) Twelve is the limit, through glared eyes. (Read in a soft cowering voice) I need more or thy information is fried. Please sir, may I have two, or four more pages? (Read loud and stern) Watch my hands bleed from papercuts INDEED ! The stamper spits out envelopes such as these. The mail carrier is hunched from this bunch, of CloverLeaf feed. Twelve is the limit INDEED! (Read in a soft cowering voice) But, but, but, I need four more for April you see…The time is ripe for fair facts if you PLEASE, Please, Please Dedicated to Lori and Shawn the best darn administrative staff a 4-H Educator could ever have!
