Christina Nielsen decided on a career as a racing driver after driving rental-karts by coincidence.

”I just fell in love with the speed and adrenalin, it really was as simple as that,” she says.

Perhaps it was inevitable. For many years her father, Lars Erik Nielsen, raced Porsche’s at Le Mans.

”It really wasn’t anything I thought too much about back then, until that day on the go-kart track, and then it suddenly seemed quite logical that racing was also going to be part of my life”.

She began her career in 2006 with four years of karting, driving for the renowned Zanardi factory-team, Chiese Corsa, with whom she qualified and competed in the World Championship. From there it was Formula Ford in 2010 and the Formula ADAC Masters series in 2011.

This year Christina Nielsen will be on the starting grid when the German Porsche Carrera Cup 2012 gets underway. It’s

renowned as the toughest one-make series in the world, racing on some of the most legendary and well-known circuits in Europe. Christina Nielsen will be driving for Farnbacher Racing, one of the most successful teams, who have won 8 out of 22 championships in the Carrera Cup so far.

Being the only female driver in the series doesn’t intimidate Christina Nielsen. After all, it’s been like that more or less her entire career.
