Christiansburg Recreation Center Hosts VIN Etching Event and Shred-A-Thon Date: 04/14/2015
(Christiansburg, Virginia) – Join the Christiansburg Parks and Recreation Department for two FREE upcoming events. VIN Etching Help protect your vehicle from theft at the free VIN etching event on Monday, April 20, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Christiansburg Fire Department, 110 Depot Street NW. Permanently marking a car’s Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the window deters thieves as the windows of stolen VIN etched vehicles must be stripped and replaced before a thief can get rid of the car. The VIN will be etched into the glass with a chemical solution and those numbers will be there for good. VIN etching is simple, fast, safe and won’t mar the look of the vehicle. Shred-A-Thon Take the opportunity to shred any unwanted papers during the Shred-A-Thon on Tuesday, April 21 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Recreation Center parking lot. There is no need to register for this event. Items to be shredded must be in some type of box or plastic tote; plastic bags will not be accepted. There will be a limit of three totes/boxes per vehicle.
