Beloved of God,

W hat a great month to praise God with thankfulness for all that He

has done for us and in us! No matter what circumstances we face, every one of us has so much to thank God for. We can express that thankfulness by continually praising Him.

Hebrews 13:15: By him [Jesus] therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

Both praising God and being thankful are actions that we take which focus our attention on God rather than on our own condition. Those activities free our mind from anxious thoughts and mental pressure, by actively recognizing the Father’s love, goodness and supply. Much of the book of Hebrews compares the old and new covenants between man and God. In the verse above, God uses an action of the old covenant, “offer the sacrifice,” in a bold new way. Instead of laying any animal sacrifices on a physical altar to atone for sin, the free-will offering that we joyfully “give up” is our praise to God because we have been freed from sin.

By general definition, “to sacri-fice” refers to a giving up of something valuable or important for somebody or something else considered to be of more value or importance. Our old man nature desires for our mental focus to be on ourselves, often manifested in pride, condemnation or anxiety. By offering the sacrifice of praise, we “forfeit” our natural attention toward self and redirect it toward God. Among the benefits of this change in focus should be a melting away of the pride, condemnation and anxiety. This verse also encourages us to offer this praise continually and that we do it by giving thanks to His name. The word used in the text for “giving thanks” emphasizes confessing, professing, acknowledging, agreeing with, celebrating, and showing allegiance to His name.

Thankfulness Above Circumstances

We can’t wait for circumstances in our lives to shape up before we praise God with thanksgiving. In fact, it’s often the praising God with thankfulness that alters those negative situations. At times, we can get in the frame of mind that “we’ll be thankful as soon as certain circumstances

change.” Typical mental ruts might be:

―When my health gets better, I’ll really pour my life into serving God’s people.‖

―As soon as we get things worked out in our marriage, then we’ll start getting more involved in our local fellowship.‖

―As soon as my boss quits being so tough on me, then I’ll be free to share the gospel with my fellow-workers.‖

―When my finances finally come together, then I’ll start to give to folks in need.‖

―If only I had more time in the day, I’d share the Word with people.‖

―If only I could lose this extra weight, I’d think what the Word says about myself.‖

―As soon as I have enough friends, then I’ll think the best of people.‖

This misguided stream of logic can go downhill fast…

―If only I didn’t have to deal with a boss, fellow-workers, and customers, this job would be great!‖

―If only I won the lottery, then I’d start talking about God’s abundance.‖

―As soon as I reach the state of eternal oneness with the universe, acquire mental omniscience, and perfect time travel… ―

Whoa! Why not turn the “if-onlys” inside-out and proclaim statements of praise and thanksgiving to God?:

―I am blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.‖ (Ephesians 1:3)

―The Creator of the heavens and the ear th i s my total sufficiency.‖ (2 Corinthians 3:5)

―I am loved.‖ (Romans 8:37-39; 1 John 3:1)

―My financial needs are met abundantly.‖ (Psalm 112:1-3; Deut. 8:18; Luke 12:15)

―I am utterly forgiven by God and released from all past

failings.‖ (Ephesians 1:7)

― I h a v e n o t h i n g t o w o r r y about.‖ (Philippians 4:6; Matthew 6:33)

―I have a loving family.‖ (Ephesians 2:19)

―I can do something perfectly.‖ (Prayer in the spirit, Romans 8:26)

―I have power and strength in my life.‖ (Ephesians 1:18)

“ I a m c o n f i d e n t a b o u t m y future.‖ (Jeremiah 29:11)

―I’m not afraid of death.‖ (Hebrews 2:14-15)

―I’m living forever.‖ (1 Thess. 4:17b)

… therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually,

that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

The thankfulness and joy in our lives comes from the attitudes and perspectives that we choose to hold rather than from our complete control of our surroundings. We may be aware of unpleasant facts in a situation, but we choose to take our view from a higher vantage point. Our attitude determines our altitude! When we praise God with thankfulness, we live above the circumstances and speak what God’s Word says about ourselves and others!

Paul’s Secret of Living

The life of the Apostle Paul was filled with tribulation, yet he was a man that God inspired to teach us so much about praising God and thankfulness. A favorite scripture for many of us has been Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Sometimes I have quoted this verse as if it was referring to leaping over tall buildings, reversing the aging process or catching bullets with my teeth. But, let’s check it’s context to see what God is really trying to teach us about our attitude amid circumstances.

Philippians 4:10-14, 18-19: (NLT) How I [Paul] praise the Lord that you [Philippian believers] are concerned about me again. I know you have

always been concerned for me, but you didn't have the chance to help me.

Here comes Paul’s Secret of Living...

11 Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. 12 I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. 13 For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. 14 Even so, you have done well to share with me in my present difficulty.

If these verses sound like sense-knowledge compromise to us, then maybe we don’t know “Paul’s secret of living.” His secret was that he was not always able to bring about perfect circumstances, but that he maintained a godly attitude and eternal perspective, during the process, while strengthened by the Christ within. Paul always claimed the victory, whether it was through mightily overcoming or by patiently enduring. He continued,

18 At the moment I have all I need-- and more! [yet he was most likely writing from a Roman prison!] I am generously supplied with the gifts you sent me with Epaphroditus. They are a sweet-

smelling sacrifice that is acceptable and pleasing to God. 19 And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.

Our Life: A Standing Ovation

One of the primary biblical Greek words for “praise” is aineō, which, according to the Louw-Nida Lexicon, means “to speak of the excellence of a person…” When we speak of God’s excellence, we are praising Him! If we are truly thankful for a blessing, we usually are inclined to praise the source of that blessing. Within our praise to God, we are expressing our thanks to Him. Another key Greek word in envisioning our expression of thankfulness to God by praise is epainos, which, according to Moulton’s Analytical Greek Lexicon carries the meaning of applause. Ha! As we express our thanksgiving to God, our life is simply a standing ovation to the Father and to His Son for all that they have done in us and for us!

Let’s offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

What Can We Do For You

Today?

A little boy was waiting for his mother to come out of the grocery store. As he waited, he was approached by a man who asked, "Son, can you tell me where the post of-fice is?" The little boy replied, "Sure! Just go straight down this street a coupla’ blocks and turn to your right." The man thanked the boy kindly and said, "I'm the new pastor in town. I'd like for you to come to church on Sunday. I'll show you how to get to heaven." The little boy replied with a chuckle. "Awww, come on… you don't even know the way to the post office!"

A Sunday School teacher decided to have her young class memorize one of the most quoted passages in the Bible-

Psalm 23. She gave the youngsters a month to learn the chapter. Little Rick was excited about the task - but he just couldn't re-member the Psalm. After much practice, he could barely get past the first line. On the day that the kids were scheduled to recite Psalm 23 in front of the congregation, Ricky was so nervous. When it was his turn, he stepped up to the microphone and said proudly, 'The Lord is my Shepherd, and that's all I need to know!'

H ave you ever considered how much time a child spends in formal learning? On average, children

spend 31 hours per week in school according to government statistics. Tack on to that an average of 4 hours of homework per week. Multiply that total by the average number of weeks in the school year and the minimum 12 years of compulsory education; and then listen to your child groan. Most parents, though, believe that time to be well spent. All of that education, they reason, prepares their children for life. In many ways it does. In the most important way, it does not.

2 Peter 1:3:

According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

Secular education alone will never adequately prepare a child to rise above life’s challenges. The cold, hard fact is that facts do not achieve successful living, or bring joy and happiness to a soul. Educational inst itutions cannot develop truly unselfish, Christ-like character. It is only through the knowledge of God’s Word that a young person attains the rich fulfillment of life in every aspect.

So, how much time does your child spend learning the truth of God’s Word? And whose job is it to teach them?

Deuteronomy 6:6-7:

And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

God has always placed the responsibility of teaching children His Word on the shoulders of parents. The role of parent as truth-teacher was established in the days of the patriarchs and required under the Law of Moses. And in our day and age, it is the central focus of nourishing a child in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, as stated in Ephesians 6:4.

Parents get to teach their children all the words of this life! Others may have the joy of chipping in from time to time, but a parent is called to teach their child at all times.

Parents, teach the scriptures “when thou sittest in thine house.” We must take the time to sit down and open the Book with them. Read about Abraham, Joseph, Moses, and David. Read the words that Jesus spoke, and teach your little ones about who he was. Show them the Father he declared; the One who cares for them. Keep it short and simple, and make it live; and watch them thrill to learn the most exciting and comforting book ever read!

But don’t stop there. Teach “when thou walkest by the way.” Children need to see the truth as more than words in a book. The Word is life. So live it, and take the opportunity to teach it in all of life’s situations. When they tell you much they love you, and you tell them how much you love them; tell them who loves them even more. When they are afraid of the dark or the storm, tell them about God who is light, and tell them about the Lord who calmed the storm. When you show them the beauty of a sunset, the stars, the trees, or the fresh fallen snow; tell them about God who created it all. Share with your children what God has done for you, and what He will do for them.

Be constantly looking for opportunities to teach your children those words that live and abide forever. Train

them to turn to God in prayer with their first waking thoughts; sing them to sleep with “psalms and hymns and spiritual songs.” “When thou liest down, and when thou risest up” talk of all His wondrous works.

Your child may have ten thousand instructors in the course of their lives, but no one can take your place. You are the teacher of the Highest education. You don’t need a degree to qualify for the position. In fact, no special training of any kind is required. God has already given you the job, and He has also given you the ability to perform it.

2 Corinthians 3:5:

Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;

The Almighty God will lead and direct us as we shape our children’s young minds with His testimonies. He will open the eyes of their understanding as we simply speak. We teach our children the curriculum of the precepts of life, and our Father will see to it that they pass the tests.

T here is a great deal of discussion going on in

the United States concerning health care for

the nation. The government and citizens grapple

with the best solutions to benefit all. The Scrip-

tures are always our best input when deciding a

matter and so few consult God’s Word for proper

guidance and direction. In

the book of Isaiah, while the

people were seeking God

daily and wanted to know His

ways, they were going about

it all wrong. They figured

that if they fasted, God would

honor their actions and they

would receive from Him,

among many other things,

their health. God, however,

challenges them on the fast-

ing methods.

Isaiah 58:4-5:

Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wicked-ness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high. 5 Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?

God spells out what they have been doing and

then in Verse 6 and 7 tells them what they should

be doing.

Isaiah 58:6-7:

Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? 7 Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

To “hide not thyself from thine own flesh” means

to be prone to help others but not themselves or

their family. Things were out of order and God

was correcting their error. Correction of the error

was all they needed and the next verse describes

the outcome of the correction.

Isaiah 58:8:

Then shall thy light break forth as the morning,

and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.

When we give ourselves to the proper service of

God: then shall thy light break forth as the morn-

ing, and thine health (to pro-

long, to be suitable, conven-

ient, well tempered, the prolon-

gation of life or the fitness of

the functions of the body) shall

spring forth speedily: and thy

righteousness shall go before

thee; the glory of the Lord shall

be thy rereward (to gather, it is

applied to the gathering up of

the scattered rear of an army,

or keeping it from straggling,

and defending it from the at-

tacks of the enemy).

The proper execution of God’s

Word in our lives is our key to

health. As Verse 8 declares,

our health should be led by

righteousness and be protected

from behind by the glory of the

Lord. What a beautiful place,

to be situated between right-

eousness and God ’ s rea r

guard. Our health is protected

front and rear. Wilson’s Old Testament Word Studies de-

f i n e s o u r r i g h t e ou s n e s s

as: “rightness, straightness,

rectitude, right, just; justice, of a judge, of a king,

of God; hence righteousness, uprightness, integ-

rity.”

If we will walk with God according to that definition,

we shall have health while the glory of the Lord

protects us from enemy attacks.

Proverbs 4:20-22:

My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

Health: to heal diseases of all kinds, particularly

wounds by outward application, binding and sewing,

to heal a distressed nation or person by restoring

them to prosperous circumstances; to heal in a

moral sense, to cure the mind, to pardon the

soul: “to all their flesh”.

To heal diseases of all kinds means just that … all

kinds. There is nothing that God cannot heal us

from.

HEALTH CARE, God’s Way!

Proverbs 12:18:

There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.

Proverbs 13:17: A wicked messenger falleth into mischief: but a faithful ambassador is health.

What is a faithful ambassador? It is one who faith-

fully and with firmness delivers a message. We

are ambassadors, are we not?

II Corinthians 5:20: Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

If then we are ambassadors, and faithfully deliver

the message of God’s Word which He has en-

trusted to us, then we can claim and realize our

healing and health. While we are faithfully deliver-

ing this message, we might as well use pleasant

words, for they too bring health to our bones.

Proverbs 16:24: Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

Having a respect for God and keeping ourselves at

a distance from evil is another health tip for all of

us.

Proverbs 3:7-8: Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart (Depart to shun or avoid)from evil. 8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

Marrow refers to the watering or moistening of the

bones. When we avoid evil, respect the Lord and

acknowledge that God’s way is superior to our

way, we will enjoy health and well lubricated

bones.

It seems that the Scriptures are clear on the best

health care program for God’s children. Let’s ad-

here to these directives by God, enjoy a prolonged

healthy life and continue to be faithful ambassa-

dors delivering the message.

Dear Family, God bless your wonderful giving hearts. What a joy it is to serve the Lord Jesus Christ!... I believe that the desire to serve in some way is resident within the new nature. And as a be-liever grows in the knowledge and understanding of all that the Father has done for us and His son Jesus Christ’s sacri-fice, that desire grows and springs forth to bless others in a unique way according to where God has placed that member in the body… thank you for the opportunities to serve that you have provided to me and so many called of God.

Pat Malone – Auburn, New York

Dear Saints and Y’all, My wife and I get real blessed to be able to send in some of our abundance. Your services and teachings always uplift and help us to stay on course despite how the wind of the world may be blowing. Our God keeps coming through in the small-est of details right on time, just when it seems via the senses the need is going to go unmet. Our God is faithful!

Michael Johnson – Orlando, Florida

God bless you all, I’m just so very thankful for all of God’s many blessings in my life. I’m sure you’ve read & seen the doom and gloom sur-rounding the auto industry as well as the economy in general and I see it and hear it literally everyday from dealerships in our area. Yet God continues to bless and prosper my busi-ness. My biggest challenge right now is finding enough good inventory to meet the demands of people who want to buy cars from us!... I have perhaps never before in my life been so aware of God’s guidance and direction as I seek Him and His will. To God be the glory!... God is not bound by circum-stances in His willingness or ability to bless His children.

Jeff Wendling – Rochelle, Illinois

Thank you so much for sharing His Word with us so magnifi-cently! It was a powerful day in the Word and fellowship! We love you.

Tim & Maureen Willis — Nashville, North Carolina

God bless you and thank you so much for an awesome Family Camp and fellowship. My heart is so full, I’m at a loss for words… This… area is not just igniting spiritually but also uniting spiritually… What a joy to serve and love again!

T he year that is drawing towards its close, has been filled with the blessings of fruitful fields and healthful skies. To these

bounties, which are so constantly enjoyed that we are prone to forget the source from which they come, others have been added, which are of so extraordinary a nature, that they cannot fail to penetrate and soften even the heart which is habitually insensible to the ever watchful providence of Almighty God. In the midst of a civil war of unequalled magnitude and severity, which has sometimes seemed to for-eign States to invite and to provoke their aggres-sion, peace has been preserved with all nations, order has been maintained, the laws have been respected and obeyed, and harmony has prevailed everywhere except in the theatre of military con-flict; while that theatre has been greatly contracted by the advancing armies and navies of the Union. Needful diversions of wealth and of strength from the fields of peaceful industry to the national de-fence [sic], have not arrested the plough, the shut-tle, or the ship; the axe had enlarged the borders of our settlements, and the mines, as well of iron and coal as of the precious metals, have yielded even more abundantly than heretofore. Population has steadily increased, notwithstanding the waste that has been made in the camp, the siege and the battle-field; and the country, rejoicing in the consciousness of augmented strength and vigor, is permitted to expect continuance of years, with large in-crease of freedom. No human counsel hath devised nor hath any mortal hand worked out these great things. They are the gracious gifts of the Most High God, who, while dealing with us in anger for our sins, hath neverthe-

less remembered mercy. It has seemed to me fit and proper that they should be sol-emnly, reverently and gratefully acknowledged as with one heart and voice by the whole American people. I do therefore invite my fellow citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are at sea and those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next, as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens. And I recom-

mend to them that while offering up the ascriptions justly due to Him for such singu-lar deliverances and blessings, they do also, with humble penitence for our national per-verseness and disobedience, commend to his tender care all those who have become widows, orphans, mourners or sufferers in the lamentable civil strife in which we are unavoidably engaged, and fervently implore the interposition of the Almighty Hand to heal the wounds of the nation and to restore it as soon as may be consistent with the Di-vine purposes to the full enjoyment of peace, harmony, tranquility and Union. In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand, and caused the seal of the United States to be affixed.

Done at the city of Washington, this third day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three, and of the independence of the United States the eighty-eighth.

Abraham Lincoln

W hereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the provi-dence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His

benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor… a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:

Now… I do… assign Thursday, the 26th day of November next, to be de-voted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be...

And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions… to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best….

What’s the Harm in Skipping Family Meals?

From 2003 to 2008 research by The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA) at Columbia University has consistently found that children who have frequent family dinners are less likely to use marijuana, tobacco and drink alcohol. CASA research reveals that compared to children who have frequent family dinners (five or more per week), children who have infrequent family din-ners (less than three per week) are:

Two and a half times likelier to have used marijuana.

Two and a half times likelier to have used tobacco.

One and a half times likelier to have drunk alcohol.

No Fear. Just the wisdom of applying Biblical principles.

1. Biblical - This was the New Testament pattern established by Jesus and the apostles and carried on by the early church for the first three centuries. It emerged again and again in renewals, reforms and revival movements through-out the history of the church.

2. Exponential - To reach a growing world, we need to multiply, not just add. Current house church movements worldwide are spreading more rapidly than traditional church planting and church growth efforts.

3. Effective - The most effective method of evangelism is not growing existing churches, but planting new ones. House

churches are the most easily reproducible form of church, proving to be the most obvious choice for church planting.

4. Natural - House churches become part of the local community and easily tap into existing relationship connections, thereby more readily taking on an indigenous flavor.

5. People-Focused - they focus on relationships and on building God’s Word into people’s practical living, not on or-ganizing programs or projects.

6. Efficient - they are more mobile, flexible, and adaptable than conventional churches, a characteristic even more magnified in areas characterized by persecution and/or poverty.

7. Equal Opportunity - Because of their small, intimate and participatory nature, all believers have the opportunity to exercise their spiritual giftings and long-suits during church gatherings, not just professional ministers or key leaders. There’s no such thing as a “professional Christian.”

8. Unbounded - they are not limited by church buildings. Whatever use buildings may or may not have, history shows that they are not necessary for rapid church planting movements to start or continue; in fact, buildings may be a hin-drance. Although church buildings are not evil by any means, nor are homes in any way "magical," the practical sav-ings of time, energy and money in upkeep of physical facilities can be redirected toward evangelism and discipleship.

9. Inexpensive - they are far less expensive than traditional church, because no costly buildings, programs or profes-sional staffs are required.

10. Immediate - it can start now, right in your living room, local park, restaurant, etc. Simply come together, pray, read/teach/share/discuss Scripture, share testimonies, sing, operate worship manifestations, minster God’s healing power & deliverance, eat together, etc.

bring us closer to God and to change our lives. If it’s just infor-

mation, then why are we doing this? In our fellowship, we’re learning to each be believers deeply interested in instruction AND

practice. Without either of those two aspects, the other will lead us away from God.

Another model of Christian fellowship that we’re seeing around the country is that many believers that we serve attend a local

traditional church service on a Sunday morning, then during the week the family conducts their own, independent home church

fellowship where they have the freedom to teach, preach, heal,

have worship manifestations, etc. according to their own direc-tion.

We’re also seeing Introducing God’s Power teaching series (AKA, bible studies or IGP) being conducted around the Zone. It’s a

simple 6-hour video tool that has already been run over 75 times around the country to help bring people together around the

Scriptures and spiritual growth. Meaningful spiritual growth

comes from right teaching and loving fellowship. IGP is one of many tools that can be used to accomplish that.

Since the Midwest Zone began in August, Sara and I have trav-eled around several of the areas in the to teach and be taught; to

encourage and be encouraged. Each of us is key to the growth of each other. That’s the Mystery of the One Body. Among homes

where we’ve visited recently are the Chappells, Cox’s, and Eagles in West Virginia and the Baker fellowship in Columbus. At this

writing, we’re off to Kentucky and western Tennessee.

Teachers, preachers and bible-based organizations are not “the answer” to people’s problems; there’s only one Savior. And God

and His Word have the answers, energized by the spirit within. BUT, teachers, preachers and bible-base organizations CAN help

call people back to the Savior and back to the Word of God, so that God’s family can stay plugged into the continuing, eternal

source for their wholeness. God has not called us to be IN-

dependent, but INTER-dependent. It’s a joy to stand together in the greater body of Christ and also with local gatherings of the

saints, heavens holiest of all. Please let us know how any of us might be able to help you “fill the sandals” that God has called

you to fill and to carry out the mission that He’s set in your soul.

Those “In This Thing Together,”

G od blessed, is blessing & will bless you! The idea of provid-ing a regional ministry arrangement in CFF, that we call

Zones, is an effort to offer more resources of service, support and encouragement to believers in need. We’ve seen many situations

where it has been a great help for local believers, home fellow-ships, etc. to have someone else to call on when a variety of

needs have arisen beyond what local ministry resources were able to give. It’s the neighborhood, community and local level where

the pulse and fire of Christian ministry really takes place. That’s

what CFF tries to do: paint a global vision of reaching our world for Christ, but support local families and fellowships in order to

build God’s Word in hungry hearts everywhere.

In September in southeast Michigan, the saints there put together

one of their wonderful statewide picnics. Over a hundred people attended from around the state. We rallied around the Scriptures,

good music, good food, prayer & ministering, and great fellowship

among the saints. We met new friends and saw many people that we had not seen in years. Also, The Christian Family Fellowship

Ministry of Michigan (CFFM-MI) is in the process of receiving non-profit incorporation status.

Here in Ohio, two of the local believers, Steve Dragoo and Beth-any Shimkus, were married on September 19. At the reception

that followed, the four children in the new family formed by the marriage, were dedicated to God by their parents, as witnessed

by those in attendance.

On September 21st, Sara and I became grandparents for the first time when Jackson Kevrick Guigou was born to Grant and Amelia

Guigou of Richmond, VA.

Sara and I continue to be so excited about home fellowships in the Tipp City, OH area. Currently, there are eight groups who

meet during the week, with our Sunday morning fellowship serv-ing as a gathering of home fellowships. Reminds me of the book

of Acts. Our home fellowship just finished 28 weeks reading through the book of Acts together. Each Tuesday night was a

new chapter. We must’ve had 20 different people to lead the group in a chapter. In each case, after their presentation, we

discussed what those Scriptures connected with us personally and how we could apply them. The last night, Acts 29 was the sub-

ject, which, since the book only contains 28 chapters, means that we believers today are the continuing Body of Christ. We expect

every teaching/sharing of the Scriptures to have the power to

in the soon to be “Great White North.” When you re-

end in the Word for the North Central Zone and from

what I can see now, everything is set to be our best one

yet. We’ve been blessed to host this event in the past

and many of you have come

from around the country and

world to be with us for some

great Word and good fellow-

ship. We again held it at the Lo-

Oregon, IL. It’s a beautiful set-

ting and the food was good and

lot’s of it. If you couldn’t make it

this year please consider joining

us next Nov 5-7, 2010 for our

next one.

The fellowships around the zone

are prospering in the more

abundant life and we are work-

ing together to spread the good

news of Jesus Christ. This will

be a month of travel and visits to many of the home

fellowships and I look forward to seeing you soon in our

journeys. This is also a time to make plans for the next

year so if you have something burning on your heart

you would like to see happen in our area, please let me

know how I can help make it happen. Wayne threw

down a challenge at the Family Reunion 2009 that if

you want to run an Introduction to God’s Power and

needed help getting it together we would come and

help. That is true for me too and it can be a great tool to

help build your fellowship. Just give me a call.

THE ZONE HERALDTHE ZONE HERALD : : North Centra l North Centra l I have been thinking about believing a lot lately and I see a

big principle in the record found in John 5. It’s about the man

with an infirmity for 38 years. He came to the pool for his

healing and looked intently at the water to see if it would

move. For years he was frustrated having not received his

healing. He was waiting for something to happen and would

have died waiting except one day he was asked a question.

“Wilt thou be made whole?” The man was passively waiting

for years but the voice of Jesus was challenging him to deter-

mine to be healed with the words “wilt

thou.” The man responded with a rea-

son for his years of waiting but Jesus

then said “Rise, take up thy bed, and

walk.” All the reasons meant nothing

at that point. The man had to make a

determination to believe those words

or continue looking at the pool. We

then see that he did indeed believed

because “immediately the man was

made whole, and took up his bed, and

walked.”

For 38 years he had a need that was

filled in a moment of time by the

words of Jesus. Jesus did not even

touch him, he just spoke the words.

There was no shame for the man from the years of sickness

only joy at believing the Word that Jesus spoke. The Word is

speaking to us today and no matter the problems we may

have lived with for years we can receive healing and deliver-

ance in a moment of time, the question to us is “wilt thou be

made whole.”

Love you all,

F all foliage is beginning here in the North Atlantic Zone. The leaves are changing and an outburst of beauti-ful colors is underway. Leaves are not the only change we are experiencing, however. Several weeks ago our state contacts for Virginia, Jim and Deb Johnson asked me if I could find a replacement for that responsibility. Jim and Deb are deeply involved in their project on the book of Ro-mans, as well as their home fellowship, and felt their ef-forts would be better served if we could find someone who would build upon the work they have started in Virginia so that they could return to their project. I am pleased to an-nounce that Dennis and Susan Furr have decided to accept the responsibility of state contact for Virginia and continue the great service that the Johnson’s have provided. Dennis and Susan were seeking an avenue of service for God and His people and this new responsibility will provide just that.

On behalf of the North Atlantic Zone we would like to thank Jim and Deb for their stand on God’s Word, the leadership they provide and their dedicated service within the body of Christ.

Contact information for the Furr’s is listed above.

In other news, here in New Jersey, a statewide teaching series on Forgiveness is underway. Down in Maryland,

Chuck and Nancy Davis are again conducting Introducing God’s Power.

Our ministry continues to grow as more and more folks are turned on by hearing God’s Word rightly divided. Last week I registered 10 new folks to receive our Friday inter-net newsletter. All these people are members of a non-denominational church here in New Jersey that I have had the privilege to share the Word with.

Just prior to Thanksgiving we will conduct our National Planning Meetings in Tipp City. At these meetings we set a course of direction for CFF and we look forward to being a part of the plans for the upcoming year. Our North At-lantic Zone planning meetings will take place January 8, 9 and 10. January 10 (Sunday) will be an open meeting for all believers in the zone to attend, so mark your calendars; we would love to see you there.

ARE YOU IN THE ZONE? If not, let us help you get there.

God Bless,
