    November was an exciting and action-packed month for Music Matters InclusiveCommunity Choir!!

    We are delighted to welcome all of our new members and volunteers who have joined us overthe past month.

    We are also learning BelieverbyAmerican Authorsand very much looking forward to theChristmas season, when we will be exceptionally busy. We have lots of carol singing eventscoming up over the next few weeks, so please follow our social media for regular updates!

    Amanda Brunker at St Michaels House

    November, Celebrity Apprenticestar Amanda Brunkerpresented acheque worth25,000to St Michaels House, which is Irelands largest service provider forpeople with intellectual disabilities.

    A combined choir of over 40 peoplefrom our Wednesday evening rehearsals and WorkOptions at St Michaels House choirs gathered at the Headquarters in Ballymun to giveAmanda a fantastic welcome!St Michaels House is a cause very close to Amandas heart, as her step-sister Deirdre hasreally benefitted from their support and services. The cheque was used to purchase a fullyaccessible red transport bus and to renovate the residence where Deirdre lives.

    Amanda also mentioned our choir and our Something Inside So StrongConcerton Twitterand in her Sunday Worldnewspaper column. There was a full page photograph of many ofour members in this newspaper, and she posed for several photographs on the day.Thank you to our fabulous friend and supporter Ali Doll for taking these photos!

    Something Inside So StrongConcertOn Saturday 16thNovember, Music Matters, along with Guest Performers (in order ofappearance) Ossia Youth Choir, A FistFull of Oranges, Suzanne Savage, Jimi Cullen, Minnieand the Illywhackers and Mark Geary took to the stage in the Axis Theatre, Ballymun.There was 3 hours of non-stop music and entertainment, with all profits made on the eveninggoing to support the development of our choir.

    Many of our audience members were very impressed with the concert and remarked on ouramazing line-up! Huge congratulations to all of our choir members who did us proud on thenight! Thank you to our audience for coming along and supporting us, we reallyappreciate and value all donations and support. Thank you also to anyone who collected

    and donated raffle prizes, and to our photographer Ali Doll.

    Visit from Margaret & Leo FarrellyOn Wednesday 20thNovember, we had a visitfrom Margaret and Leo Farrelly, who travelledall the way from Co. Cavan. Margaret and Leoare Owners and Directors of Clonarn Clover-the largest independent free range egg supplierin Ireland.We had previously met Margaret in July, whenshe visited our choir. When Margaret saidGoodbyeto our Director, Grinne, sherevealed that she was the Secret

    Millionaireand presented a cheque worth7,500!The programme aired on RTE1 inSeptember 2013.

    Leo and Margaret were delighted to meet all thenew people who have joined the choir, as adirect result of all the publicity we got. It also

    gave them the opportunity to see first-handwhere their amazing donation to Music Mattershas been used and how it has allowed us tonot only continue but to grow from strengthto strength!

    Dublin City Council FundingOn Wednesday 20thNovember, MusicMatters also got the wonderful news that wewill receive5,000 worth of funding forvarious projects in 2014. We would like tothank the Social and CommunityDevelopment section of Dublin City Councilfor their valuable advice and support overthe past few months, particularly in helpingus to establish our new office space at StPauls Community Centre in Smithfield.

    We are also very excited about workingon more projects with the Axis Theatre inBallymun, which is where this funding willbe spent. We look forward to involvingpeople from the local Ballymun communityin various projects next year!
