CHAMBER February 2018 Chippewa Falls Area Chamber of Commerce CONNECTION CHAMBER’S 107TH ANNUAL MEETING & LUNCHEON The Chamber’s Annual Meeting was packed with more than 360 people attending at the Avalon Hotel & Conference Center. Rolly Enderes, ChemCeed, LLC handed over the reins to our new chair, Neil Mathwig, Earth Blinds, LLC. In his comments, Mathwig highlighted the Chamber’s priorities in 2018 which are to continue to provide leadership to coordinate, support, and promote the business interests of our members. Attracting and retaining workers is on the top of our list. “While we continue to expand our programs with the schools, we are increasing our efforts to retain the young professionals already here. And remember that the Chamber can help sell our community to potential employees that may be relocating. Not only does the Chamber have relocation packets available, but the Chamber works one-on-one with individuals to answer questions about our community. Chippewa Falls has a lot to offer, let us help sell our community to your prospective employees,” said Mathwig. Machine Tool Camp was the featured business at this year’s event. Owner Scott Kauphusman explained that Machine Tool Camp remanufactures CNC machines. After refitting a CNC with new controls, they can reconfigure the cutting tools and fixturing to best suit the needs of the buyer. Scott also shared information about his second business, Club MTC. Club MTC is the area’s only “maker space.” It is a community workshop for hobbyists, entrepreneurs, inventors, educators, and tinkers of all ages. The Club provides the tools and technology necessary to build, hack, fix, or create just about anything you can conceive. It is a membership-based club and Scott invited everyone to stop at his location on River Street to check it out. To learn more about Club MTC, go to www.clubmtc. Join the Chamber for this new morning networking series. At this free event, members will have the opportunity to share contacts, discuss upcoming community projects, and build relationships with fellow business leaders over complimentary coffee and treats. Sponsorships are now available for this upcoming series. For only $100 you will have the option to speak on behalf of your business/organization and will be included in all promotional materials pertaining to the event (newsletter, e-news, Facebook, website, etc). In addition to the fee, sponsors will be asked to provide a $50 door prize. COFFEE & COMMERCE FEBRUARY 9 8:00-9:00AM CHAMBER

During the month of February, WESTconsin Credit Union will host the Chain of Hearts fundraiser in support of its local Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals—Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare and CMN Hospitals at Gundersen Health System! Members are invited to show their support of CMN Hospitals by purchasing a paper chain link for $1, small paper heart for $5, or Wall of Fame paper heart for $25 at their local WESTconsin office, where the links and hearts will be proudly displayed in our lobbies. Typically over $9,000 is raised for CMN Hospitals. Every charitable donation received directly assists children and their families, and supports pediatric programs, state-of-the-art medical equipment, and services that help kids battle diseases and injuries of every kind. It also funds care for patients who are uninsured or under-insured, ensuring Gillette will never turn a child away because of a family’s inability to pay for treatment. For more information about Gillette, visit gillettechildrens.org.
