BUDGETARY OFFER FOR THE SUPPLY,LAYING, TESTING, COMMISSIONING OPERATING AND MAINTAINING SPRINKLER

SYSTEM IN MAIN ROADS IN CHENNAI PORT TRUST

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATON

SCHEDULE – “A”

Trust is interested in providing sprinklers along the three Main Roads for containing the

coal dust vulnerable to coal dust pollution. The Roads to be covered in this project are

a) PHASE – I: - Road from “A” Sub-station to West Quay I

b) PHASE – II: - Road from JD V to South Quay I.

c) PHASE –III: - Road from JD VI to South Quay II.

SCOPE OF WORKS:-

I. The Tenderer shall carryout: -

1. Supply of all the pipes and accessories as per technical specification and

quantity as per Schedule “A-1”

2. To lay the pipeline of the sprinkler system and commission the sprinkler system

using the material supply vide above and as per drawing attached.

3. To operate and maintain the entire sprinkler systems for the period of one year

from the date of commissioning and acceptance.

DETAILS OF WORKS TO BE CARRIED OUT:-

I. CIVIL WORKS:-

1. The Tenderer shall carryout the earthwork, concrete cutting and refilling to the

original standards wherever required for laying the pipelines by using

JCB/POCLAIN MACHINARY.

2. Construction of static tanks as per Trust drawing and as per Schedule “A-1”

II. Mechanical and Electrical works:-

a). Laying of pipeline as per Trust drawing: -

i. All 100mm Dia G.I.Pipe line shall be of 6 meters length each with M.S flanges

welded on both sides for laying. The pipelines shall be placed along the

kerbs, along the platforms, along the wind shields and where ever required

may have to be provided with concrete cutting, road cutting etc.,

ii. All suction and delivery pipes for pump sets shall be of 150mm dia G.I.Pipes

and 6 Meters length each with M.S.flanges welded on both sides for laying.

iii. All Tees shall be fabricated using 100mm dia G.I. pipes with necessary

flanges welded as per drawing given.

iv. While laying the pipe lines all required G.I fittings, ball valves, non-return

valves, foot valves, gaskets, fasteners, etc., has to be fitted as shown in the

drawing.

b) All vertical 50mm dia G.I pipes shall be fitted over the Tees fabricated and sprinklers to

be fixed over the vertical 50mm Dia pipe with necessary G.I fittings. The distance

between any two sprinklers shall be 18 meters, however it shall vary according to Trust

requirement while laying.

c) Necessary support with tripod stand is to be provided by the contractor for each sprinkler

vertical pipeline.

d) Digging of bore wells for filling water in the static tanks, erection of submersible pump in

the bore l shall be fixed at the places indicated by Trust. The make shall also be as

indicated by Trust.

e) Erection of new 100 H.P. Pump sets of approved make by the Trust representative on the

bed constructed has to be carried out by the contractor.

f) Fabrication of electrical panel boxes as per specification given schedule A-1 and erect

near the static tanks at the locations identified by the Trust Engineer and the contractor

shall provide 4 earth pits near the panel box and run to runs up earth individually from

the earth pits to the panel box and to the motor of the pump set.

g) In coming three-phase power supply for the operation of the pumps shall be arranged by

the Trust upto the panel box. Fixing of Electrical items such as MCCB, Starters, etc., in

the panel box and necessary wiring from the panel box to the pump sets has to be done

by the contractor.

h) On completion of work the entire sprinkling system to be tested for atleast two days in the

presence of Trust Engineers before commissioning and acceptance. If any defects are

noticed while testing and commissioning of the system Tenderer shall rectify the defects

and replace the defective items at his own cost.

i) During the period of operation & maintenance all materials, men, tools, etc., required for

maintaining of the entire sprinkling system trouble free to the satisfaction of Trust has to

be taken care by the contractor. * for the operation & Maintenance period of the

sprinkling system the Tenderer shall quote only for the labour charges as the above work

is covered under Guarantee period.*

j) Sprinkling of water at regular intervals for a fixed duration around the clock as fixed by the

Trust representative has to done by the contractor by posting a minimum of 2 labourers in

each phase during the period of operation & Maintenance of the Sprinkling system, which

may vary from time to time.

GENERAL CONDITIONS:

1. The Tenderer shall bring the welding set, gas set, wire rope, pulley block and other tools & equipments required for the above work.

2. The Tenderer shall include the cost of welding, plumbing related works and necessary foundation for the Tripad supporting pipes in their total contract value.

3. The Tenderer shall include all elements of the cost as applicable for the above work in the total contract value.

4. Entry passes will be issued to the contractor and his employees and for the vehicles on payment from Pass section.

5. Free supply of water and Electricity will be provided to the tenderer.

6. Any items found defective during testing shall be replaced free of Cost by the Tenderer.

7. Price shall be kept firm till the completion of the contract.

8. The tenderer shall make necessary arrangements for the safety & Security of materials and other items till the completion of the work and acceptance by the Trust.

9. The contractor shall arrange for insurance of employees engaged in the above works

at Trust premises.

10. The Tenderer is requested to study and to inspect the site conditions before submitting their offer.

11. In case of temporary suspension of operation and maintenance as desired by the

Trust, the same will be intimated one day in advance and accordingly payment will be deducted.

12. A site register will be maintained and the contractor’s employees should sign every

shift every day.

13. Trust reserves the right to cancel the operation and maintenance part of the contract.

14. The Grand Total cost only would be taken up for arriving at the lowest offer.
