Steps to Control Water Pollution.
Control water pollution in your home by using non-toxic soaps, detergents and cleaning products.
Refrain from the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides on your lawn and gardens.
Always dispose of paints, motor oil, gasoline, antifreeze and other harmful chemicals in accordance with your local laws and safety regulations.

Improperly stored chemicals can slowly seep into the groundwater system, so keep them in tightly sealed containers, inside of structures with cement floors, to avoid groundwater contamination
Prevent polluted runoff and soil erosion. Polluted runoff is caused when rain washes toxic pollutants into surface waters from sources that include city streets, farms, or logging and mining sites.
Plant bushes and trees along roads and natural water sources. The roots of trees and bushes can slow the speed of runoff and erosion, protecting surface water

∞Turn off the water while brushing your teeth and save 25 gallons a month.
∞Wash your fruits and vegetables in a pan of water instead of running water from the tap.
∞Shorten your shower by a minute or two and you'll save up to 150 gallons per month.
∞Collect water from your roof to water your garden.
∞When cleaning out fish tanks, give the nutrient-rich water to your plants.
