2000 cerium, Ce cerium, Ce I 2900 50 - 011 The First Microporous Framework Cerium Silicate. A microp- orous sodium cerium silicate, denoted AV-5, is prepared under hydrothermal conditions by mixing an alkaline solution of SiO 2 and Na 2 O and a solution of Ce 2 (SO 4 ) 3 ·8H 2 O in aqueous HCl (autoclave, 230 C, 8 d). The compound is characterized by powder XRD, 29 Si, and 23 Na MAS NMR spectroscopy. It shows the same structure as montregianite (Na 4 K 2 Si 16 O 38 ·10H 2 O; monoclinic, space group P2 1 /n).
