2008 Urea derivatives P 0490 Solvent-Free Synthesis of Substituted Ureas from CO2 and Amines with a Func- tional Ionic Liquid as the Catalyst. — Aliphatic amines, cyclohexylamine, and ben- zylamine,(I), are converted into ureas (III) with moderate yields and high selectivity without solvent and dehydrating agents in the presence of a basic ionic liquid. The use of organic solvents does not improve the yield of the carbonylation significantly. No by-products are detected in the reaction mixture and the ionic liquid is reusable after simple separation. — (JIANG*, T.; MA, X.; ZHOU, Y.; LIANG, S.; ZHANG, J.; HAN*, B.; Green Chem. 10 (2008) 4, 465-469; Beijing Natl.
