TRANSCRIPT
What a wonderful and gracious group of ladies
that I have had the privilege of serving! Thank
you all for allowing us to grow and accomplish
ideas and opportunities presented to our Chapter!
As we walk through memory lane, I recall all the
warm items that we donated to the citizens of our
home town. It was truly amazing to see all of the
scarves, hats, toboggans, mittens, and gloves given so willingly. To
celebrate Valentine’s Day, we warmed the hearts of the children at T C
Thompson with paper Valentines they could give away. In July, our
hands packaged and delivered to the post office, 106 boxes of needed
items for our troops. These are just some of the memories that will be
ours to share in years to come.
I have been blessed to be your 2010-2011 EWI President! I appreciate
the 2010-2011 board for working diligently with our Chapter to make
each meeting and each project a success! As I pass the torch to Mi-
chelle and the new board of 2011-2012, my feet are ready to step aside
and view the new horizon of adventure.
As a fellow EWI representative stated in an email, “This is one of the
reasons why I enjoy EWI; the ladies are so caring and giving. If there
are any needs, EWI is always there to do whatever. I appreciate that and
count it a privilege to be part of EWI.”
Thank you ladies for allowing me to be part of EWI! I love you dearly
and I look forward to serving with you in the future!
Sincerely,
Margaret Browning
Your Chapter President

Melissa’s Organizing Tips for October
Moving Toward A Paperless Office
Have you found yourself thinking: “Maybe it’s time that I consider going paperless. Wouldn’t
that be a better solution than dealing with the stacks of paper in my office?” The answer is yes
– and no. This month’s article addresses the pluses and minuses of scanning paper rather than keeping it in
hard copy format.
Why go paperless?
The equipment and software are reasonably priced
Your documents will be accessible remotely
Reduce the space needed for storage of paper files
Can be more secure than paper in case of flooding, fire, or theft
Why not go paperless?
If you still want the paper document
If you don’t trust the process
If you have a small amount of paper
The first step is to make a decision about going paperless, understanding that this is not “all or none.” Most
likely you will be paperless in some processes and keep the paper in others. Next month we’ll explore how to
get started and review highly-rated scanning equipment. For more productivity tips, please go to
www.mbgorganizing.com and sign up for my free monthly newsletter.

EWI Care Corner, Website Trivia, and WHO AM I?
August Who Am I?
My hobbies are traveling and shopping. I have been very blessed to have
been able to do both to make a living. I have traveled and shopped for
years for my Unique Gifts business.
I also was in land development business for years. After the downward
spiral of the economy, I retired from that.
In the last few months, I have gotten involved in a great new business. I
also get to travel, meet new people and show people not only how to make money but save
money. God continues to bless me doing what I love most!
Were you able to guess? Nancy Landreth is the representative for Unique Gifts and Pro-
mos.

Emily Kurlinski WSMC Classical 90.5 WSMC Classical 90.5 is a 100,000 watt FM broadcast radio station licensed to
Southern Adventist University whose mission is to enrich, uplift, and inspire
listeners and students, delighting the classical music lover. This month, WSMC
is celebrating fifty years of operating in the Tennessee Valley.
In addition to broadcasting top-quality recordings, WSMC also partners with the Chattanooga
Symphony and Opera, String Theory at the Hunter Museum, and area universities to encour-
age local musicianship and to bring the best local concerts to the airwaves.
WSMC provides valuable training to many Southern Adventist University students, and Emily was one of them—working as an announcer for two years during her college experience. Currently, she is in the middle of her second year as Operations Manager. Emily loves to travel, and she lived abroad for a year teaching English in Ukraine and learning a bit of Russian. She claims the Pacific Northwest as home, visiting her parents in the Seattle area as often as possible. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors—backpacking, running, hiking, biking, etc. She also loves peanut butter and playing violin/viola with friends.
When asked why she joined EWI, Emily noted, “I learned of EWI through Southern, and I
have a lot of appreciation for the work EWI does in the community and the education oppor-
tunities it provides for women both inside and outside the organization. Also, having not pur-
sued a typical corporate career track with my college education, I’m excited at the chance to
learn and to connect with the businesses and leaders in my local community.”
