M.L. King Mural Dedication

Title: “We Will Not Be Satisfied Until”

Artist: Meg Saligman

Location: 300 East Martin Luther King Boulevard

Collection: Permanent

About: Public Art Chattanooga commissioned Philadelphia artist, Meg Saligman to depict the past, present, and future vision for the city's M.L. King District. The mural covers 42,179 square feet and was painted by a team of 11 artists led by Saligman.

Title: “Allegro” Artist: Hanna Jubran Location: Phillips Park Collection: Temporary Program: Seventh Biennial Sculpture Exhibition About: The Biennial Sculpture Exhibition is a rotating outdoor juried exhibition. Seven new works are selected every two years by members of the mayor-appointed Public Art Committee. The sculptures are installed along First Street, Renaissance Park and other public green spaces throughout Chattanooga's urban core. The current exhibition will be on view through spring 2018.

Title: “Cumulon” Artist: Phil Proctor Location: Renaissance Park Collection: Temporary Program: Seventh Biennial Sculpture Exhibition About: Aluminum, Steel, Polycarbonate, LED Lights, Stainless Steel 15’x13’x8’. The work is an abstraction of a cumulonimbus thunder cloud. This work is totally autonomous and can operate anywhere there is sunlight. The power and beauty of a summer thunderstorm is an event we can all associate with summers in the south.

Collection: Temporary About: “The Blue Trees” is an art installation that brings together environmental consciousness and social action. Public Art Chattanooga brought the artist, Konstantin Dimopoulos to Chattanooga for a six-week residency in which he engaged the community in a series of installations and events highlighting the importance of trees by coloring them a vibrant ultramarine blue. Organic and temporary, the artwork will gradually fade away over the course of a year. The artist completed 5 installations with the help of nearly 300 volunteers.
