G&M Meeting Brief
Open Meeting September 11: An Open Meeting was held on September 11th at the Town of Wallkill Community Center in Middletown, NY starting at 7:40pm. The previous meeting minutes were presented and approved along with the most current Club and Juniors financials. There was no correspondence again for this month so those present moved right into Committee Reports. First was the Event Committee, there is was a horse show coming up. It was discussed and decided that the last two events of the season will be charity events for the horses effected by Hurricane Harvey. We are still offering $5 discount for pre-entries and food will be provided by Wings N’ Things like usual. Also thrown around was doing a press release and more publicity for the events. Moving onto the Show Committee, someone is needed to take over the shows for next year, Gymkhana is being handled. Adding additional divisions or classes was also discussed and making pre-payment available, but there is plenty of time to work that out down the road. More conversation was also held on how to get more active people to the club. Wrapping out the committee meetings was the Nomination Committee who presented their nominations for the 2018 officers, this list can be found on page 4. Next we moved into new business, the Juniors are looking to go Medieval Times, they are currently offering a discount. More info will be sent out when available. The meeting rounded out at about at 8:50pm.

A new year begins...Well another year of showing has ended and once again the juniors met to vote new officers. I am turning over the presidential responsibilities to Hope Connolly and treasurer will be Samantha Crawford. The discussion centred on our trip to Medieval Times. The date is November 4th, at 8 pm. Junior members are covered by the club as well as one parent. You must provide your own transportation. Siblings are welcome to come but must pay full price. If you are applying for any awards please check with Jae and Trish to make sure you met the qualifications. Look out for information regarding out end of the year dinner in January.
It has been my pleasure to lead this club as president over the last two years. I wish Hope all the best as I am sure she will be a great president and Samantha will do great as your treasurer. I hope to see you at the end of the year banquet! Best wishes to all and Happy riding!
