Small Farmers Club: At Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm in Tamworth Village, young children can experience the seasonal rhythms and chores on a historic farmstead. Through age-appropriate activities—including crafts, games, stories and animal meet and greets—participants enjoy season-based activities such as planting, milking, harvesting and wintertime indoor activities. This month’s theme is Various Vegetables, Part II: Below the Ground. Parent/guardian must accompany their child for the duration of the 10am activity. Stop by today from 9am-4pm. The festively decorated photo studio is located between Crocs and Rue 21 at Settlers Green. All proceeds benefit Kiwanis projects for children in need.

Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular: Badger Realty is happy to announce the return of the Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular from 1-3pm at the North Conway Community Center. The Grinch, Santa, Mrs. Claus and the Elves will be back to greet children and their families, as well as pose for free photos. New this year, White Birch Books will be on hand to read the classic How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss, and the movie will be playing continually during the event. Children will be able to do a holiday themed arts and crafts activity, as well as decorate cookies. Children will receive a small gift, and all families will receive an ornament to take home from Badger Realty and Northway Bank. We will have a gift-wrapping station, where our Elves will beautifully wrap your presents for a small donation. Fully decorated Grinch-Themed Christmas trees will be available for purchase, with all funds raised going directly to the North Conway Community Center.

Conway Village Tree Lighting & Ice Show: The Conway Village Christmas Tree, at the Conway Information Booth will be lit at 4pm. Then, at 5:15pm, Mt Washington Valley Skating Club presents their 2018 Holiday on Ice Show, “A Charlie Brown Christmas”, with live music by Heather Pierson and Shawn Nadeau. Skate with the stars after the show ‘till 7pm courtesy of the Ham Arena.

Holiday Jazz: Mountain Top Music presents two shows featuring seacoast pianist Tom Snow and popular saxophonist Mike Sakash, at the Lords gorgeous mountaintop home above Silver Lake. For more information and to reserve seats, call MTM at 447-4737.

A Valley Christmas Festival: A magical concert the whole family will love. Celebrate the season, as the Mountain Top Community Orchestra, the Mount Washington Valley Choral Society, and Tina Titzer’s Act One Dance Company come together in a one-time-only performance at 4pm in the Kennett High School Auditorium.

Bartlett Tree Lighting: Bartlett Christmas Tree Lighting will take place this afternoon. We will gather at the Josiah Bartlett Elementary School for some Christmas Music by our student chorus groups. At 4pm we will head to Gazebo Park for the lighting of our Christmas Tree, memory light reading and some refreshments. Miss Mount Washington Valley along with Santa will throw the switch. This is a family event provided by Bartlett Recreation.

Fund-Raider Fever: Join Valley Promotions at Cabin Fever Restaurant, in Bartlett, at 5pm, following the Bartlett Tree Lighting. A percentage of all food sales we be donated to Valley Promotions to help with their mission of non-profit collaboration. There will be a scratch ticket raffle as well as a mystery gift table. Support the Valley's Chamber of Non-Profits while enjoying a great evening in Bartlett Village!

Cold River Radio Mini Concert: A benefit evening for Mountain Top Music of “jazzsoul” music hosted by Stu Dunlop at Wildcat Tavern in Jackson, beginning at 7pm. Presented by Jonathan Sarty, this is part of the Cold River Radio Mini Concert Series.

Monday, December 3

Morning Coffee Break: Come enjoy a cup of coffee, meet other volunteers, and find out what current opportunities Tin Mountain Conservation Center has. This is an open invitation to current or prospective volunteers, the first Monday of the month, every month, at 9am. For more information on volunteering contact Nora at 447-6991.

Yoga After School: This series is for kids in grades 3-6 from 3:30-5pm on Mondays and led by Dixie Lea. A healthy snack and other yoga-related activities will be included. Kids under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Let us know you are coming by calling Conway Public Library at 447-5552.

Dine to Donate: Each Monday evening, from 4:30-9pm, Joseph’s Spaghetti Shed offers a Dine to Donate for a local non-profit organization. This evening 20% of all food sold (eat-in or take-out) will be donated to Silver Bells.

Sky Watch: Marc Stowbridge, local astronomer and representative of the New Hampshire Astronomical Society will be leading a sky watch in the park of the Conway Public Library at 6:30pm. Marc will begin his presentation in the Ham Room with a tutorial on how to use the telescope available for borrowing through the library, then sky-watchers will convene outside to take in, and learn about the universe around us. Tuesday, December 4

Victorian Mansion Christmas: The Gibson Center bus will travel to Portland to see the Victorian Mansion all dolled up for Christmas. Afterwards you will have lunch on your own at the Olive Garden. Please call to sign up for this trip, which leaves at 9am; 356-3231.

Volunteering Tuesday: Volunteers are welcome at the Theater in the Wood to help Believe in Books Literacy Foundation prep for their key fund-raiser, Journey to the North Pole™! Help fold scarves, tie bells, and count candy. Coffee and snacks will be provided to all volunteers. Join us in making this event magical!

Window Cling Workshop: Between 4-6pm Fryeburg Public Library hosts an all-ages opportunity to make lovely, bright and colorful window clings to adorn our “probable” winter-white vistas. Sherri Billings will teach us how to make Window Stars out of semi-translucent paper squares. These multi-colored stars can be hung in your windows to catch the winter sunlight and bring some color indoors. Refreshments will be served.

White Mountain Writers Group: This writer's group led by Olga Morrill welcomes new and seasoned members at the Conway Public Library from 4:30-6pm in the Ham Room, the first Tuesday of each month. Share written work, gain feedback, learn new skills, and support others in this safe and welcoming setting. For more information call 447-5552.

Tech. Tuesday: Cheryle O'Neill offers technology support at the Conway Public Library on a first come, first serve basis from 6-7pm. Bring your smartphone, tablet, computer or eReader fully charged.

Maker Madness: The Conway Public Library hosts maker opportunities for young people ages 10 and up every Wednesday from 3:30-5pm. Activities change weekly. For more information call 447-5552.

Friends of the Conway Public Library: The Friends of the Conway Public Library will meet at 3:45pm. Meetings are held once a month at the library.

MWV Toastmasters: MWV Toastmasters Club meets at 6:30pm at Granite State College campus. New members are always welcome.

A White Mountain Christmas: White Mountain Musical Arts presents “A White Mountain Christmas” at 7pm at First Church of Christ Congregational, in North Conway. The concert will feature Ray Cornils, recently retired Municipal Organist for the city of Portland, Maine since 1990, along with Robinson Pyle and Greg Gettel, trumpets. CHS Annual Christmas Party: The Annual Christmas Party for the Conway Historical Society will be held at the Gibson Center in North Conway beginning at 6pm. Please note the change of date. All current members and their guests are invited to attend and asked to bring a dish for the potluck dinner and a gift for a Yankee swap.

The Eight: Reindeer Monologues: M&D Playhouse presents “The Eight: Reindeer Monologues”, by Jeff Goode, as directed by Ken Martin. Scandal erupts at the North Pole when one of Santa’s eight tiny reindeer accuses him of sexual harassment. As mass media descends upon the event, the other members of the sleigh team demand to share their perspectives, and a horrific tale of corruption and perversion emerges, which seems to implicate everyone from the littlest elf to the tainted Saint himself. With each deer’s confession, the truth behind the shocking allegations becomes clearer and clearer. …and murkier and murkier. Showtime is 7:30pm, with house opening at 7pm. M&D recommends patrons purchase their tickets early by visiting www.mdplayhouse.com.

First Friday Faculty and Friends: A selection of original works by Ken Turley, performed by Ken, Mountain Top faculty, and friends. First Friday concerts are held at the Brown Church in Conway Village. The concert is free, but donations to support the renovation of the Majestic are gratefully accepted. Bring a friend! Inn to Inn Cookie and Candy Tour: In Mt. Washington Valley, “C” is for Christmas and also for cookies, candy, collectors’ ornaments, and keepsake recipes as the Country Inns in the White Mountains celebrate the 22nd year of their annual Inn to Inn Cookie and Candy Tour today and tomorrow, from 11am-4pm. An annual event that draws cookie and holiday revelers from around the country, this ultimate cookie walk will combine overnight stays at beautiful inns in the White Mountains of New Hampshire with a scrumptious inn-to-inn tour of 11 B&B’s plus decorating ideas and take home recipes. Many of the inns on the tour will feature a special demonstration, artists or craft sales for your holiday shopping, too. Harp Concert: Harpist Dominque Dodge returns to serenade us with her traditional music and song at the Jackson Public Library at 5pm. A local favorite!

Bruins Alumni Hockey Games: The game is today at 12 noon (noon - 2) at the Ham Ice Arena, in Conway. It is to celebrate the Ham Arena's 20th anniversary. We'll have a little open ceremony-ish. There will be two 30 minute games, The Ham Arena team(s) consist of many of the youth hockey coaches and a lot of the mens, womens and coed league players. In between the two games the Bruins will sign autographs and meet the fans. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the arena, or at the door before game time.

Gingerbread House-Making: Kids ages 8 and up are invited to sign up for this free, festive activity at 1pm in the Ham Room of the library. Women’s Bible Study: Please join us for bible study & refreshments. The WBS is a group of ladies who meet on Thursday mornings at 9:30 for fellowship and Bible study. We utilize a study guide with the Bible, usually a chapter at a time, and discussion. We are all novices in this, but enjoy the friendship and knowledge that we share. You do not need to be a member of the Conway Village Congregational Church to visit one of these groups.

Preschoolers and their caregivers are invited to enjoy story time with Tessa at 10:30 am in the Ham Community Room of the Conway Public Library. Siblings are always welcome.

Chair exercises for those who need assistance getting in and out of the car or a chair are held Thursdays at 10:30am at the Gibson Center in North Conway.

RSVP’s Bone Builders meets on Thursday’s from 10:30-11:30am and at the Conway Village Congregational Church in Conway. For more information on this program call CCRSVP at 356-9331.

Laci, the gentle German shepherd, and Kay, her human companion will be visiting the Conway Library Thursdays at 11:30am in the Ham Room. Children can read to Lacey or simply pat, talk to, and interact with her. Therapy dogs are proven to reduce anxiety, improve mental and physical health, and build empathy.

Tai Ji Quan Moving for Better Balance at the Gibson Center, 4-5pm. Through a series of 48 classes, you will train your body to listen to cues about balance, and to automatically respond to situations where you feel unbalanced, recovering, saving yourself from a fall, and there by gaining confidence, and living a fuller life. Peer Support Groups for Parents of Children, Teens and Young Adults with Substance Use Issues - North Conway F.A.S.T.E.R. Overeaters Anonymous group members stopped eating compulsively and so can you. No dues or fees for membership.
