The weekly verse is: II Corinthians 9:7 “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (This is the next verse in the chapter after last week’s verse.) Please be watching for more information to come out weekly from Mr. Villers regarding our monthly character traits. Volleyball State ChamPionS Congratulations to the SC volleyball team on winning the 3A State Championship on Saturday. They defeated Cascade Christian in 4 sets, 25-23, 23-25, 25-16, 25-17. Sophomore Emily Bourne was SC’s Player of the Game, and both Bourne and junior Kassie Staton earned 1st Team All-State honors in addition to 1st team All League honors. Junior Josie Risinger earned 2nd team All League, while juniors Lauryn Penner and Aliyah Atkins both received Honorable Mention. Emily Bourne was selected as the Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year. The team was coached by Kelli Fitzpatrick and assistant McKenna Smith. Fitzpatrick earned the Mountain Valley Coach of the Year award for volleyball. (See more pictures on page 4.)
