CHAPTER V CONCLUSIONS AND SUGGESTIONS The previous findings as depicted in chapter IV has brought the conclusions and suggestions. A.Conclusions After conducting the data the researcher found that in teaching writing, the English teacher has carried out the curicullum cycle. However, those stages were not implemented approprietly. From the observation, it is known that the problem found in the Building Knowledge of The Field stage (BKOF). Lowest score was given for this stage (11, 5). In other words, it belongs to low criteria (see appendix 2). Furthermore, in evaluating students’ writing, the English teacher did not evaluate students’ writing based on evaluation. The English teacher assessed students’ writing based on the mistake they made. The English teacher ignored the components 72

Conclusions After conducting the data the researcher found that in teaching writing, the English teacher has carried out the curicullum cycle. However, those stages were not implemented approprietly. From the observation, it is known that the problem found in the Building Knowledge of The Field stage (BKOF). Lowest score was given for this stage (11, 5). In other words, it belongs to low criteria (see appendix 2).Furthermore, in evaluating students writing, the English teacher did not evaluate students writing based on evaluation. The English teacher assessed students writing based on the mistake they made. The English teacher ignored the components that should be assessed in assessing students writing, they are content, organization, vocabulary, language use and mechanics (based on Jacobs criterion). There is no the true evaluation that made by the English teacher.Since this approach is implemented inappropriately, it brings the effect to the students. Generally, students writing scores are under the standard score (see appendix 6). The students writing is not sufficient yet. Briefly, this existing fact makes the Uncertainty in the Teaching and Learning Process of Writing at Junior High School 9 Solok Selatan.B. SuggestionsIt is suggested that the English teacher should implement the four stages in curriculum cycle in order to get the better result of learning achievement. In addition, in evaluating students writing, the English teacher showed assess students writing based on standard criterion.Finally, this study has indicated that the curriculum changes in the Indonesian educational system for the teaching of English place a lot of stress and need for learning on teachers. Therefore, planning for this learning is critical for the success of the new program and the intended improvement in students learning. The planning should involve sequence of stages from training need assessments to designing appropriate training program based on the result of the training need assessment.
