1 Chapter 4 Conclusion and Recommendation The outcome of my internship program in the Department of Tourism and Culture of Karanganyar Regency is an English tourism website for Department Tourism and Culture of Karanganyar Regency. The main purpose of my internship is to make English tourism website and promote the tourist destinations of Karanganyar Regency in international market. Based on the result and main purpose of making English tourism website, I expected that the content of English tourism website can be renewed and developed by the Department of Tourism and Culture of Karanganyar Regency in the future. Conclusion Making English tourism website and promoting tourist destinations are the main purposes of my internship in the Department of Tourism and Culture of Karanganyar Regency. I made the English tourism website for 35 days (January 21 st - March 1 st , 2016). During the internship, I divided the main internship activities into six parts including doing observation, making promotional text, editing promotional texts, designing website, presenting and simulating website, and promoting website. There were some problems as well as the problem solving of making English tourism website for Department of Tourism and Culture of Karanganyar Regency. The problems of making English tourism website were the difficulties in mapping out of the location observation, combining the persuasive and informative text, managing the time for editing the promotional text, choosing the design of the website, preparing the tools for presenting and simulating website, and promoting website to foreigner and travel agency. The problems of making English tourism website can be solved by using the Karanganyar tourism map that had been given by Department of Tourism and Culture of Karanganyar Regency to map out the location of observation, using internet to search the example of combination persuasive text and informative text, making time table to arrange the time for editing promotional text, using internet to look for the design of the foreign tourist website, asking for help to the staff of Department of Tourism and

Chapter 4

Conclusion and Recommendation

The outcome of my internship program in the Department of Tourism and

Culture of Karanganyar Regency is an English tourism website for Department Tourism

and Culture of Karanganyar Regency. The main purpose of my internship is to make

English tourism website and promote the tourist destinations of Karanganyar Regency

in international market. Based on the result and main purpose of making English

tourism website, I expected that the content of English tourism website can be renewed

and developed by the Department of Tourism and Culture of Karanganyar Regency in

the future.

Conclusion

Making English tourism website and promoting tourist destinations are the main

purposes of my internship in the Department of Tourism and Culture of Karanganyar

Regency. I made the English tourism website for 35 days (January 21st- March 1st,

2016). During the internship, I divided the main internship activities into six parts

including doing observation, making promotional text, editing promotional texts,

designing website, presenting and simulating website, and promoting website.

There were some problems as well as the problem solving of making English

tourism website for Department of Tourism and Culture of Karanganyar Regency. The

problems of making English tourism website were the difficulties in mapping out of the

location observation, combining the persuasive and informative text, managing the time

for editing the promotional text, choosing the design of the website, preparing the tools

for presenting and simulating website, and promoting website to foreigner and travel

agency.

The problems of making English tourism website can be solved by using the

Karanganyar tourism map that had been given by Department of Tourism and Culture

of Karanganyar Regency to map out the location of observation, using internet to search

the example of combination persuasive text and informative text, making time table to

arrange the time for editing promotional text, using internet to look for the design of the

foreign tourist website, asking for help to the staff of Department of Tourism and

Culture of Karanganyar Regency to prepare the tools of presentation and using social

media and cooperating with travel agency to promote the website to people in the world.

Recommendation

Based on my internship experience in Department of Tourism and Culture of

Karanganyar Regency, I have some recommendations for Department of Tourism and

Culture of Karanganyar Regency as follows:

1. Department of Tourism and Culture of Karanganyar Regency should try to use

the other media to promote tourist destination of Karanganyar Regency such as

Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other social media to make official account.

So, they can share the new appearance of Karanganyar Regency and

communicate with society to get critic, advice and suggestion to improve their

services.

2. Department of Tourism and Culture of Karanganyar Regency should hold a

great event to show the local culture such as traditional music, traditional theater

and traditional dance of Karanganyar Regency minimum second time in one

years.

Before I translated my Indonesian promotional text into English promotional text.

I searched in Internet about the example of persuasive, descriptive and informative text.

It is because those texts usually have different dictions. So, I needed to change my

Indonesian diction into the general English diction.

Therefore, to make good promotional text. I decided the combine those texts to

gain the best imagination of tourist destinations for readers.

During translating this text, I decided to combine persuasive, descriptive and

informative sentence. You can see the first paragraph “Having free time but you have

no idea where you want to go? Come and spend your free time in Cetho Temple.” —

persuasive sentence. Paragraph 3rd & 4th “Indirectly, I stimulated the senses of readers to

feel and think about the atmosphere of temple area— descriptive sentence. Then, “I give

the information about the rituals on Cetho Temple (paragraph 3rd) and how to get there

(paragraph 6th) — informative sentence.

I used the unique thing in the temple area to make they are curious about the real

form of those things. So, they will look for the things in Internet or go around the

temple area directly.

Parang Ijo Waterfall

When I translated this text, I used persuasive, descriptive and informative

sentence as the criterion to make promotional text. The persuasive sentence can be seen

at first paragraph “Do you like mountain atmosphere? Come and visit Parang Ijo.” Then,

in paragraph 2nd line 2 until the end of second paragraph. I decided to use description

sentence because the explanation can attract readers to feel and describe about the

atmosphere of Parang Ijo Waterfall. The informative sentence can be seen at paragraph

3rd line one, paragraph 5 & 6.

In this text, I tell much descriptive sentences. It is because descriptive sentence

can stimulate readers to imagine the weather & atmosphere of Parang Ijo Waterfall.
