There are hundreds of search providers that you can add to your Internet Explorer search box. When you use the search box, you can select the search provider you want to use. In Internet Explorer, Bing is the default search provider, but you can change that setting to another provider. To complete this project, you will need the following file: New blank WordPad document You will save your document as: Lastname_Firstname_w07_03_Providers 1. On the taskbar, click the Internet Explorer button . 2. Click the search box arrow, and then click Manage Search Providers. Compare your screen with Figure 1. 5. Under Wikipedia Visual Search, click the Add to Internet Explorer button.

6. In the Add Search Provider dialog box, select the Make this my default search providercheck box. Compare your screen with Figure 3, and then click Add.

When you add a search provider,you have the option to make it the default search provideror to accept search suggestions from that provider. Search suggestions are the words andphrases that display as you type in a search box.

4. Maximize the Search Providers - Add-ons Gallery window. Scroll as needed to displayWikipedia Visual Search. Compare your screen with Figure 2.

If the list of providers has changed, you can complete this project by substituting otherproviders.

7. Scroll as needed to display Google Search Suggestions. Under Google Search Suggestions,click the Add to Internet Explorer button. If you have already installed this search provideron your computer, click OK.

8. In the Add Search Provider dialog box, leave the Make this my default search providercheck box cleared, and then click the Add button.

9. Repeat the technique just practiced to add ESPN Search, and then Close the SearchProviders - Add-ons Gallery window. Close the Manage Add-ons dialog box.

10. Click the search box arrow, compare your screen with Figure 4, and then click Wikipedia(en) (Default).

16. Create a Full-Screen Snip. Copy the snip, and then Close the markup windowwithout saving the changes.

17. In the Manage Add-ons dialog box, click Bing, and then click the Set as default button.

18. In the Manage Add-ons dialog box, click ESPN Search, and then click the Remove button.Repeat this technique to remove Google and Wikipedia (en). Close the Manage Add-ons dialog box.

19. Close Internet Explorer, and then in the displayed message, click Close all tabs.

20 Start WordPad, and type your first and last name. Add a new line, and then typeWindows 7 Chapter 3 More Skills 12 Add a new line, and then Paste the snip.

21. Click Save , and then in the Save As dialog box, navigate to your Windows 7 Chapter 3folder. In the File name box, type Lastname_Firstname_w7_03_Providers and then clickSave.

22. If you are printing this project, print the WordPad document.

23. Exit WordPad. Submit your printout or WordPad file as directed by your instructor.
