All the major riverside hotels and the River City shopping mall offer continuous boat shuttle services to/from Central Pier (Tha Sathorn). If using the boats to get to the BTS skytrain, please take note of which pier they drop you off at and signage on the boat to avoid confusion on your return.
The Saphan Taksin BTS skytrain station is on the Silom Line of the BTS system, which runs 6am to midnight. LOCAL LINE BOATS (stop at all numbered piers)Fare: Baht 10-14 depending on distance. Runs daily from 6am-6pm, all the way north to Nonthaburi(about 45 minutes north of Central Pier) and south to Wat Ratsingkhon (Pier S3).
CHAO PHRAYA TOURIST BOAT (Blue Flag)Fare: Baht 180. (Discounts available online.) Hop onand off at 8 piers near attractions. Guides providecommentary but engine may be too loud to hear. Dailyfrom Central Pier 9am-5.30pm., departures every 30 min.
“RUSH HOUR” EXPRESS BOATS (with a flag)Orange flag: Baht 15. Yellow flag: Baht 20-29. Green & Yellow: B 13-32. These stop at only some piers (see maps at the piers). The Orange flag runs daily 6am-7pm. Others run only Mon-Fri during morning and evening rush hours.
CROSS RIVER FERRIES “rua kham fak”Fare: Baht 3.50. Runs 5am-9pm or 10pm depending on the pier. Available at almost every landing. These takepeople directly across the river. Usually everyone stands up as seating is limited.
LONG-TAILED TAXIS “rua hang yao” เรือหางยาวAvailable for private hire by the hour from anypier. RECOMMENDED for 2 hour private toursof Klong Bangkok Noi, best around sunset!

SAFETY TIP: Look BOTH waysbefore getting out of a taxi (a motorcycle may be coming up between you and the curb) and when crossing streets (on what seem to be one-way streets, a bus may very well be coming upin the opposite direction, or a car or food vendor may be driving the wrong way).
