We are three modern women with the affinity for fashion and love for nature. For this reason, we created the Empty Your Wardrobe initiative. Consequently, our team joined several supporters who help us in every step. Our main goal is to encourage the sharing of unnecessary clothing and accessories instead their disposal. Our motto is: “Let the unnecessary for one to be the new jewel for an another “. That is why we took the task of organizing a series of social events and we have formed three directions in which we work hard:

What we strive for is to build a new concept of clothes, of their production and use. We want to re-educate or rather to teach people in this sense of appreciation, of giving special meaning to everything. Overproduction and consumption have passed the nor-mal limits and possessing have long been unrelated to our real needs. Led by this fact, Empty Your Wardrobe strive to awaken the sense of awareness in our followers and find a solution to this problem.

Who are we?

We created a series of social events for swapping called “VARTIDRESHKA “. There, people could bring their clothes for exchange, leave them to the situated places for the purpose, after which they are free to choose between the other clothes, to take a drink or something delicious, and share the emotion with others. The events are situated every time in different places and with different con-cepts. At each of them, we announce a cause that we find important and deserving of attention. We ran an auction of famous people’s clothes, we helped people in need and the newborn dogs trained to guide blind people. The positive people who are coming to all our events give us hope to move forward.

Vartidreshka Events

“SUNDAY FASHION SESSION” is a Fashion Transformation Course at which people learn how to encapsulate their wardrobe, find standard combinations of fabrics, clothes and colors, how to emphasize on the natural beauty. In its second part, with the help of mentors, the participants learn to process clothes and accessories they brought. Jewelry mentors teach them how to do various bracelets, necklaces and earrings. With the help of fashion mentors, successfully transform their clothes by decorating, painting or cutting them off. Accessories like bags and shoes also live a new life thanks to the special atten-tion of our designers. Inherently for us, we again left our charity footprint by donating tools to schools involved in technique and creativity.

Sunday FashionSession

By re-making, cutting and sewing individual items, which are no longer used and creating a new product. Using recycling techniques, we have created ZOVV collection, in collabo-ration with a fashion designer called Melinda Hubin.ZOVV is a sustainable collection created by one-sized models made from the transforma-tion of the clothes that did not find their new owner in the earlier events. Four elements form ZOVV: - Earth, Fire, Water and Air. Accessories made from waste materials, with the collaboration of great Bulgarian designers, strengthen the message of the collection: “To-wards a sustainable environment!”. The clothes have names of different elements and affected areas: Fire - volcanoes (cat-astrophic eruptions or known volcanoes), Air - Hurricanes, Water - tsunami and affected areas of a tsunami, Land - wastelands, deserts and earthquakes. The aim is to provoke and to urge all of us to think for a moment about the reasons for these consequences. After creating ZOVV Collection, we closed the scope of resource utilization -and gave an example of how we can efficiently use their qualities, creating a minimal surplus. Empty Your Wardrobe, along with the fashion designer Melinda Hubin, present a solution to fight against climate change - ZOVV collection. It follows the principle of a shared/cir-cular economy, which aims to maximize the quality and the efficiency of the resources by minimizing the surplus that subsequently goes to the landfill, and 90% of it remains dis-posable. We want to develop the concept so that it can become part of this economy and improve our lives.

The fashion industry, and the fashion chains, in many studies, are listed as one of the biggest environmental polluters, the largest users of resources, which are now becoming more and more limited. When designing ZOVV we were inspired by the life of the modern man. He understands natural beauty, wants to live healthily and to breathe a fresh air. He cares both for his look, for the spirit and the inner balance. He is an activist, aware of his actions and their consequences and struggles to preserve and protect nature.

In what we believe

Technology and innovation are growing sharply, so we would like toencourage and involve more people in our initiative, thuswe fight fast fashion and overproduction of clothes. We believe and supportinvestment in quality rather than quantity in added value rather than in“What’s hot now”. The sources we draw from nature, like cotton and water, areexhaust, the fabric is not 100% degradable, resulting in pollution and big production fromwaste.

We believe that now we must turn our attention to nature, keep it, seekquality and added value as an investment for better and more harmoniouslife. Innovation in the texture, in the fabric of clothes; innovation in mining and quarryingthe use of natural raw materials; new methods of processing and recycling.Rationality in the use of water resources in the production of clothes - thiswe think should be the main goals in developing the new future.To share, to give, to delight the beautiful gestures that move usforward.
