Baseball: 1942-45, Captain 1944-45; Infielder/Pitcher;Hit .422 as a sophomore and .375 the next two years;

8-1 record pitching as a senior; Catholic League All-Star as a junior and seniorFootball: 1941-44; Played both offense & defense;

Caught most passes on team as a senior; Catholic League All-Star all 4 yearsBasketball: 1941-44; Captain 1943; Leading scorer his junior & senior years;

Played on the US Marines' fast pitch softball team against the Kenosha Women’sAll-Star team that beat the Marines 2-1. Don had two of the three hits

for his team and drove in the only run.

Upon discharge from the Marines, he was offered aminor league contract by the St. Louis Cardinals.

Pitched team to state playoffs as the Flyers swept the CAC and Districttournaments with a CAC record of 9-1 and an overall record of 16-5-1,
