The regular meeting of the Columbia County Board of Commissioners was held June 212010 with Chairman Charles G Reeves Commissioner Dwight L Robanske Commissioner Richard W Jones and Clerk of the Board Leanne J Peters present

1000 am Bill Peters Emergency Management

Bill presented to contract for approval

Commissioner Robanske moved to authorize the Chair to sign the 2010 EMPG Grant The motion unanimously carried

Commissioner Robanske moved to authorize the Chair to sign the 2010911 Grant Contract The motion unanimously carried

1002 am Columbia County Public Works

1002 am An executive session was held to discuss a personnel issue pursuant to RCW 423011 O(g) The hearing closed at 1004 am no action was taken

A discussion was held with Lisa Ronnberg of the fairgrounds committee regarding a telephone survey to ascertain citizens thoughts on funding improvements of the fairgrounds facilities Lisa requested $3500 to help fund the survey The Board agreed to look at the countys finances to see if any monies are available

1051 am Steve Pozzanghera - Washington Department ofFish and Wildlife

Mr Pozzanghera was present to discuss the proposed purchase of property that lies next to the forest service on the upper Wolf Fork Road Commissioner Jones left the meeting to tour the proposed property with M~ Pozzanghera

1107 am Vyrle Hill and David Goldsmith - Washington Counties Risk Pool

Mr Hill and Mr Goldsmith conducted the Risk Pools annual courthouse visit A PowerPoint presentation was held with discussion on all updates to the countys risk pool policy

1203 pm Carla Rowe - Columbia County 4-H

Ms Rowe presented updates on the activities ofthe various 4-H groups

1217 pm Auditor Sharon Richter

A discussion was held regarding a travel expense reimbursement voucher from Dave Riggs Mr Riggs was present for the discussion A question arose regarding travel arrangements Mr Riggs will assemble a cost comparison worksheet for the Board to review at the next meeting

1238 pm Seth Teeters - Courthouse Maintenance

Seth and Stephen Gregg discussed the need for an air conditioner unit for the server in the Assessors office Stephen will purchase the unit and will schedule the install

A discussion was held regarding the removal ofthe Mountain Ash tree on the front lawn ofthe courthouse The tree is in very poor condition and will need to removed as soon as possible

Seth requested authorization to place a recycling dumpster in the parking lot of the courthouse Commissioner Robanske believed it would detract from the beauty of the courthouse

100 pm Miscellaneous

Commission Robanske moved to approve the warrants for the month ofMay 2010 1010995-102540 in the amount ofthe amount of$863953 80

A discussion was held regarding a request from the Dayton Alumni Association to open the courthouse for tours on July 17 2010 from 11 00 am to 1 00 pm Commissioner Reeves volunteered to open the courthouse at the requested times

101 pm George Barton

George discussed updates regarding ABC Inc work at the fairgrounds

104 pm Columbia County Public Health

Dave Riggs and Candyce Connely were present from the public health office Dave presented the administrators report and fiscal updates Dave requested authorization to purchase an emergency generator for the public health office

Commissioner Robanske moved to authorize the expenditure out ofthe PHEPR H1N1 Pan Flu Phase III Fund for the purchase ofan emergency generator and emergency lighting for Public Health The motion unanimously carried
