Swimming
From the 10th December - 20th December, all students from Years Prep-6 will be participating our Swimming Program. In 2018, students in Years Prep-3 will be completing the program at Richmond Recreation Center and students in Years 4-6 will complete the program at Fitzroy Swimming Pool. Both programs will consist of 9 x 40 min sessions. It is an expectation that all children will participate in the swimming program. There is no cost for the swimming program itself, however there is a cost for the private, seat-belted buses that will be taking the students to the pool each day. If you hold a current Working With Children Check and are available to assist with our Swimming Program please speak with your child’s classroom teacher. Payment for the bus is due on the 3rd of December. If you have any queries about the program please do not hesitate to contact your child’s classroom teacher.
Holidays
We are aware that are number of families will be leaving before the end of the school, whilst we strongly advise against this due to the fact that teachers will be striving to fill gaps in student learning before sending your children the next year level, we understand that some trips are unavoidable. If you are going on holiday early please make sure that you give as much notice as possible to the office and your child’s teacher.
2018 Reports
Reports will be available on Monday 17th December on Compass. Please be advised that teachers can not provide you with a school report before this date.
BYOD Information Night.
On Wednesday 15th November at 5:00pm we are holding a BYOD information session. The session will cover how students will use the iPads in the classroom, the apps they will use, which iPads the students should have and keeping safe online. We will also be providing a handout that contains all the information. Please RSVP for the event by clicking here.
2019 Planning
Thank you to all the families who have completed the Return to School form. We still have around 30 families who have not completed the Returning to School form. This could leave us understaffed by one teacher next year If you have not completed the form you can find it at: https://goo.gl/forms/PLuDDlis3M4sJ6zi1

Four tips to help you choose a movie or video game for kids Movies and video games can be fun and entertaining. Only you can decide what is best for your child. We have put together some practical tips to help you make informed decisions about your family’s entertainment choices.
1. Check the age recommendation for the movie or video game. If it is higher than your child’s actual age, it may not be suitable.
2. Check the content – what does the advisory information state about the movie or game’s content? Does it contain strong language, violence or sexual references? Will you be comfortable exposing your child to this type of material.
3. Look up the Classification Board decision about the movie or game you are thinking of watching or playing. Access the public database here.
4. Read reviews to see what other parents, experts and users are saying about a particular movie or video game.
Reviews often contain summaries of storylines and game content including warnings about inappropriate material. We have collected some advisory and review websites that you may find useful. For example, the Raising Children and Common Sense Media websites have practical information for parents about a range of age appropriate multi-media products for children.
