    Introduction

    This event is a continuation of the lastyear activity regarding nonproliferationof nuclear, chemical and biologicalweapons. The seminar aimed toenhance the eective practices of theimplementation of UNSCR !"# andtried to show good practices and toma$e new lin$s between peers forfuture collaboration and e%changes.&oreover than the identi'cation anddistribution of practices of implementation of Resolution !"#,government representatives,international organi(ations and UNdepartments came together to 'ndsolutions in 'ghting the proliferation of

    the illicit weapons and dual)use goods.The seminar highlight the importanceof the common action regardingnonproliferation of nuclear, chemicaland biological weapons as this remainsa big threat for international peace andsecurity.

    Seminar bring together issuesregarding nonproliferation fromdierent bac$grounds and areas as theparticipants at the seminar represent* dierent countries from +continents and dierentorgani(ations. -n this matter theparticipants gather and identify issues,eective practices, templates andguidance with the aim to develop peercollaboration.

    13. The participants were both seniorand @unior military and civilian

    recommendation ma$ers dealing withUNSCR !"# issues.

    Activity overview

    The seminar was separated during thetwo days as follow/

    -n the 'rst day the activity was opened

    by representative of government ofthe Republic of Croatia, &s San@a4u@as)8uraga followed by the speech of0mbassador of Racviac, &r 4ranimir&andic. 0lso !"# Committee isarmament 0airs, &r Ni$itaSmidovich held a welcome speech tothe participants. The attendantsintroduce themselves and highlight thepersonal e%perience in -mplementationof UN Security Council Resolution!"#.

    The conference aimed to be acombination of presentations followedby Buestions, answers and discussionwith the aim of enlarge the informationof the participation but also sharinggood practices and 'nding solutionsfor future collaboration. That whyUN;>0 and !"# Committee showedthe interest in helping the participants

    to 'nd partners to ma$e :eer reviewan eective practice amongparticipants and encourage them to'nd common issues and solutions.

    UN ;Ace for >isarmament0airs :anel bring into attention TheUNSCR !"# Peer Revie as anEfective Practice, 'rst by thepresentation made by &r Ni$itaSmidovich and after being presented amodel of common practice anddialogue between Croatia and :oland.

    This focused on the importance of theinteragency wor$, mutual agreementsand practice on information e%changebetween relevant services andcooperation with industry, civil societyand academia.

    >uring Ro$nd ta5le6 InormationSharin% on Recent National !"#Implementation Activities andEfective National Practices, memberstates of R0C-0C update their

    national status regarding non)proliferation of weapons. 0lso theyshared the information about thetreaties and conventions rati'ed andthe situations they deal with as a shareof information. &oreover they statedthe importance of the -mplementationof Resolution !"# and the measuretheir states too$ to put it in practice.

    The participants made a presentationalso of their devices and approachesthey use to combat the use and transit

    of mass destruction weapons. -n :anel--, Peer Revie and similar practicesithin the rameor7 o international,re%ional or%ani-ations and 3em5erStates, ;, -0C, 0 and&6

    Security :lan and also encourages andfacilitation from international level tonational level of guidance regardingthe implementation of UNSCR !"#.

    That why was received in good termsthe idea of information e%change andanalysis but also :eer review andfacilitation of training.

    0lso organi(ations showedtheir support in helping states toreview their physical stoc$piles, toassist states to implement reBuiredinternational instruments but also toidentify good practices who could beused for long term improvement.;rgani(ations states that they aimedto participate as a peer reviewers notas inspectors as they can ta$e action

    @ust on reBuest. The target of

    international organi(ations is to buildcon'dence among internationalcommunity and general publicregarding the eective practiceagainst weapons of mass destruction.

    The participants of the Seminar
