Tampere University, Finland with Anna University have Memorandum of

Understanding (MoU) is offering semester exchange programme. Interested students of

Anna University, Chennai (CEG, ACT, SAP and MIT campuses) can apply for this

exchange programme.

The details pertaining to this programme for the spring semester 2022 (Jan to

Campuses at Tampere University

Tampere University has three campuses: in the city centre, Hervanta and Kauppi in

Tampere. The city centre campus is a hub for education, business and management

studies, natural sciences, life sciences, politics, communication, and social sciences.

Hervanta campus and the surrounding area constitute a major technology hub and is a

main campus for engineering students. The Kauppi campus is located near the

Tampere University Hospital and is the home base for medicine and health sciences.

Language requirements

The required level of knowledge of English is B2, however, in the Degree Programme in

Languages, Specialisation in English Language, the required level of English is C1. For

more details and exceptions, please see the How to apply instructions.

Courses and restrictions

Tampere University offers a wide range of study options for incoming exchange

students. Some field-specific restrictions may apply, e.g. architecture, medicine, theatre

arts. Exchange students can choose courses from different faculties and units

according to their own interests if they meet the course prerequisites.

Incoming Erasmus+ students are expected to select the majority of courses in the

subject fields stated in the respective IIAs.

Academic calendarDuring the autumn semester, teaching is organised from late August until late December.

The spring semester starts in early January and teaching continues until late May.

Welcome WeekA Welcome Week is offered in August and early January. Besides learning about study practices and Finnish way of life, the Welcome Week is a great opportunity for you to make new friends! The Welcome Week programme is free of charge.
