The Bazaar leftovers are set up at a table in the hallway tonight. Please feel free to shop at the break. There was some discussion regarding a bazaar coming up this weekend. Volunteers decided to man this bazaar since the table rent was only $25. Raffle Quilt 2019- it was announced that the net profit from this years raffle quilt, (which was won by a local retired Fairbanks teacher) was $3,831.69 Raffle Quilt 2020- and 2021 Mary Olson reported that the 2020 raffle quilt blocks are gradually becoming a quilt, and there was some discussion and description of the 2021 Raffle quilt, a one block wonder quilt, using Alaskan Themed (sled dogs) panels, six are stacked and whacked, the 7th panel is the centerpiece of the hexagon blocks Carol McConahy is taking the lead on sewing this one. Quilting in the Snow- Kristen reports that she has Quilting in the Snow applications here tonight. She will accept them at the break or by the end of the meeting, otherwise mail them in. She dis-cussed class options and they discussed Sweatshirt colors. Quilt Slushy- This retreat will be held the third week in April at Davis Hall, the Lions Club building on the Fairgrounds. Diana Craw-ford and Carol McConahy will be in charge. More on that later. Quilt Alaska- Kathy Richardson presented information about this biennial Quilt show, sponsored by the guild. Since the Arts Associa-tion is up in the air because of the temporary closure of the Pio-neer Park Civic Center she will keep us posted on both the pro-

spectus and the location of our quilt show there in July. In the meantime, plan to enter something special in this show. Lots of tourists show up to this show. Fair- Marcia Bryant presented some info regarding changes the Fair is making. Most things will remain the same, although we will be moving to the Agricultural Museum building, the former loca-tion of the photography and painting divisions. The theme should be selected by year-end. Library Display Case- This will be in February 2020, anyone with ideas or suggestions please notify Karyn Janssen or someone on the board prior to Feb. 1. Kathy requested $300 for Quilt Alaska budget, and Kat requests $50-$100 for publicity. The proposed budget will be published in the January Newsletter and voted on at the January meeting. Next Board meeting is Dec 3 at 5:15 in one of the meeting rooms at the Noel Wien Library. All are welcome to attend. Announcements- Ellen announced a reminder that next month there is a homemade ornament exchange. Shirley Sterner will bring her Christmas Tree Quilt to display them. Bring a homemade ornament to exchange (it does not need to be made by you, it just needs to be hand made), take home someone else’s speciality. Jan Cannon gave more info about the next bazaar. It is on the Fair-ground in the Badger Bldg. and the Lions Club bldg. the first week-end of December, (6th and 7th) 5-8 Friday night and 10-4 Saturday. Also announced was that Linda Stephenson, our Web-site person will be leaving town in May. She will pass off this re-sponsibility to anyone with the knowledge, interest and experience necessary. Because of all the new members, and because it is win-ter, we were all reminded of the policy of canceling the meeting if it is colder than 35 below at 2PM, as reported by the Airport. Please Google FAI to check the temperature when it is very cold. Show and Tell - After the break, several people, including new members showed quilts. Board Meeting Minutes

December 5, 2019, 5:15 PM

Noel Wien Library, Room #1

Members present: Ellen Coughenour presiding, Sarah Shawcroft, Pat Fox, Diana Crawford, Colleen Pedretty, Mary Olson, Anne Apalsch, Jean Leder, and Karyn Janssen. Meeting was called to or-der at 5:23 pm. The minutes of the previous Board Meeting were approved by a voice vote. Anne Apalsch said she is getting acquainted with the Treasurer info, banking procedures, and Quick Books. Information was presented by Ellen that Carol McConahy has agreed to head Quilt Slushy with help from Diana Crawford. The dates are going to be April 21st through April 26, starting on the Tuesday and ending on Sunday to accommodate those who only have weekends off. There was a brief discussion about the Library Display Case. Karyn requested up to $50 in funds to cover any expenses. Pat requested funds($80) for a shelving unit to be used in the church for storage of Hospitality and other items. It was agreed that the cur-rent storage bins had been in use for over 20 years and we could afford to update to fit our current meeting space. There was some discussion regarding state forms and fees that need to be paid and the need or not for a tax account-ant. We discussed and agreed on the requests from the general membership meeting for funding for Publicity ($75) and Quilt Alaska ($300). The remainder of the meeting was a work session on the budget. Next board meeting will be held January 7th, 2020 at 5:15. Meeting adjourned 6:40 pm.

Respectfully submitted, Karyn Janssen
