Overview The IPENZ Transportation Group's annual conference is New Zealand's premier forum for the traffic engineering, road safety and transportation planning community. It is intended to stimulate debate and problem‐solving amongst peers. Around 200 professionals attend the annual event, which has been running for more than 40 years.
The 2014 conference will include thought‐provoking conference papers, healthy discussion amongst industry professionals (including our sub‐groups and peer groups) and an exciting technical tour programme. As always, the conference will be an ideal opportunity to network and share ideas across a diverse and wide‐ranging industry.
IPENZ will be celebrating its centenary In 2014 and as a leading technical group of IPENZ, we will be joining the celebrations with the key focus and theme of our conference being “Transport Ingenuity – Celebrating 100 years”. As always, the conference will be an ideal opportunity to network and share ideas across a diverse and wide‐ranging industry.

Conference Theme ‐ Transport Ingenuity – Celebrating 100 years
In 2014, IPENZ will be celebrating its centenary. We will join the celebrations to mark a century of creativity and innovation in transportation industry. Commemorating 100 years of professional engineering is not just about celebrating the successes of the past and the positive influences of engineering on society. We also need to look at how the last 100 years will shape and influence our industry for generations to come. The last 100 years have seen huge changes in the way we live. We now no longer rely on horses or steam power for transport. This has influenced the shape of our cities and how we plan them. How is our transport legacy shaping how we are able to live in future? Over the last 50 years our profession has refined traffic management techniques and controls. The toolkit available to us is becoming more and more sophisticated. We have also been refining our theories of traffic flow. As computers have increased their processing power, so we have increased the complexity and sophistication of our traffic models. Computers have allowed us to develop multi‐modal transportation models. We now have the processing power to model pedestrian behaviour. This gives us the opportunity to scrutinise every intervention but does it make us risk averse? How have transportation engineering practices evolved and how should they evolve further? Science and technology is also allowing us to travel faster and faster. This has meant that the consequences of our mistakes can be more severe. Looking at the whole system is allowing us to improve the safety of our vehicle fleet, improve driver skills and awareness and make our roads more forgiving. Do we need to go further? When will we see the annual road toll fall to zero? What are we doing to achieve this? Our world is changing at an ever increasing rate. We are living longer, our family make‐up is changing and more of us are living on our own. At the same time our expectations of transport networks are increasing. Through our stimulating and enlightening conference programme, we challenge you to think about what we’ve learnt over the past century and the challenges that await us in the future.

Outside Exhibition Space
There is an opportunity to use space immediately outside the conference venue for trade exhibitors to display large products or those that are better viewed with plenty of space. The area, which is partially covered and in a public area, provides an excellent space for demonstrating heavy vehicles, signalling or barrier technology.
Availability of this space is subject to interest. Underground structures mean that any displays will also need to comply with the venue’s specific point load requirements. Please note that the external exhibition is subject to minimum numbers. The final date for submission of interest is 20 December 2013. You will be notified after this date whether the external exhibition will take place or not. Please see details on the map on page 10 of the external exhibition site.

Speaking Opportunity

Level One – Morning/Afternoon Tea Slot $500.00 + GST** Level one entitles you to present your company/organisation to the delegates of the IPENZ Transportation Group 2014 Conference for a five minute presentation before either Morning Tea or Afternoon Tea. There are six spots available. Level Two ‐ Lunch $750.00 +GST** Level two entitles you to present your company to the delegates of the IPENZ Transportation Group 2014 Conference for a ten minute presentation before lunch. There are three lunch spots available. Level Three – Round Table Presentation* $1,000.00 +GST** Level Three entitles you to present your company to delegates of the IPENZ Transportation Group 2014 Conference during the Roundtable session. In the Roundtable session you will have a smaller audience of up to 10 people, and your presentation will be repeated three times with different audiences. You will have about 25 minutes with each audience. The session gives you an opportunity to engage with each audience more directly than a lectern‐style presentation. You will be talking to people with a specific interest in your project, and it is a great chance to have a conversation around some of the issues you’ve encountered, and to explore potential solutions and ideas. You can use PowerPoint on a laptop if you like, or make the most of your table to use other props like plans or models. Please note that attendance by delegates is optional and may be held in separate rooms.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Please return your completed form to secure your sponsorship and/or exhibition space to the contact detailed above. Allocation of space will be made on a “first in first served” basis, with the exception of Platinum who will take priority.
PAYMENT
A confirmation letter and invoice will follow containing the detail of the agreement; payment is due within 14 days of the date displayed on the invoice. IPENZ Transportation Group reserves the right to withdraw and/or re‐allocate sponsorship if payment is not received by the due date.
To comply with all the obligations as specified under each level of sponsorship or trade exhibition, it is the responsibility of each exhibitor and/or sponsor to provide appropriate material by the date(s) specified. Failure to meet the due date for payment may result in the cancellation of all or part of the obligations agreed between the parties.
CANCELLATION POLICY
After the official booking has been accepted by the Organising Committee, if the sponsorship or floor space can be resold to another company, the sponsor/exhibitor will receive a full refund, less administrative fees of 20% of the total sponsorship and or exhibition rate. If not able to be resold, the sponsor/exhibitor will be liable to pay the following fees:
50% of the total sponsorship/exhibition rate, if the cancellation request is received in writing before 21 February 2014.
100% of the total sponsorship/exhibition, if the cancellation request is received in writing after 21 February 2014.
If, for reasons beyond the control of the conference organising committee, the conference is cancelled, the sponsorship fee will be refunded after deduction of expenses already incurred.
