Getting Started Guide CCNow Extended Shipping

Welcome to the Getting Started Guide for the CCNow Extended Shipping service. With the extensible design of Extended Shipping, we are offering both simplicity and flexibility using a three-tier system. This guide will help you get started in setting up your Extended Shipping profile and making changes to your profile when necessary. First time set up The default setting for CCNow Shipping is Basic, so to use Extended Shipping, you must first set it up and activate it. To do this, click on “Settings and Options,” “Shipping Settings” and then choose “Extended Shipping.” You will notice that it is set to Inactive right now. When you choose Extended Shipping for the first time, you will see the following screen:

Click on “Create a Plan” to begin setting up your first Extended Shipping Plan.

A Plan is a Method or group or Methods that must be activated to use Extended Shipping (Methods will be explained in more detail later in this document). Multiple Plans can be saved in the CCNow system, however, only one Plan can be active.

After you click on “Create a Plan” the next screen will be:

This screen allows you to you name your Plan, select which region you will be shipping from and add any notes that you’d like for your customers to see during the purchase process. Please note that your “Ship From” choices will be limited by the location you indicated during sign up. For instance, U.S. customers will have U.S. states in the drop down menu. Also, right now your Plan is listed as Inactive and you cannot change this setting within this screen. Once you have completely set up your Plan, you will have the opportunity to activate it later in the set-up process.

Each plan is a combination of shipping Methods. A Method can be defined by any criteria---transportation, physical location, etc. For instance, you can have methods based on transport mode (Ground, Air, Sea) or you can use Methods to define locations such as Northern California, with a separate Rate Table (defined below) from the Southern California Method.

Once you have filled out the information above, click on “Continue” to move to the next screen.

You will add a Method to your Plan on this screen.

After you have named your method, you need to choose which regions you will ship to using this Method. You can use our preset regions (click on “details” to find out more about the groupings) or you can add your own region if you are shipping to a location not specified in our groupings. After you have chosen your Regions, click on “Continue” to move to the next screen. This next screen will allow you to create a Rate Table, which will drive the calculations used in your Method.

Your Rate Table can be based on a range of quantity, weight, or dollar amount. A flat dollar amount or percentage can also be applied. The Rate Table created here will be applied to the current Method, but will also be available for use in other Methods as well.

After naming your Rate Table and choosing your calculation method, click on “Continue” to move to the next screen.

This section allows you to set up intervals for different shipping charges within the rate table. They will be pre-filled with default settings, but you can change them easily by highlighting the text in the box and typing over it. Five rate tiers will be provided initially. To add tiers in blocks of five, check the box and click on “Make Changes.” Use these Optional Features to make minor adjustments to your Rate Table calculations. Note: These changes will carry through to all Methods using this Rate Table.

After completing this section, click “Submit Rate Table” to apply these rates to your Method. The following screen will appear after you have clicked on “Submit Rate Table:”

Clicking on OK will take you the Extended Shipping Menu, where you can activate your shipping plan.

This screen lists your current Plans, Methods and Rate Tables. Note that the status is Inactive. Click “Activate” to enable your Plan and the Extended Shipping option. A plan must be active or Basic Shipping will be used.

Making Changes To make changes to your Plan, click on “Settings and Options,” “Shipping Settings” and then choose “Extended Shipping.” The Extended Shipping Menu (shown directly above) will appear. To access the Plan settings, click on “Edit” next to the Plan name. The following screen will appear:

From here you can change the plan name, shipping location and shipping notes. You can also make changes to your Method(s) by clicking “Edit” next to the Method you would like to change.

Clicking on “Edit” will bring you to the following screen:

From here you can make the desired changes and click on “Modify Region/Rate Table Mapping” to submit and update You can also make changes to the Rate Table used by the Method by clicking on “Edit” next to the Rate Table name near the bottom of the screen. The screen used to edit a Rate Table appears as:

This is similar to the screen used to create the Rate Table, except that it is prefilled with your values. Highlight any values and type over them to make changes. Once complete, click “Make Changes” to activate your modifications.

Creating Custom Regions During the setup process, you have the choice of using pre-defined regions or creating your own based on your needs. You can set up new regions while creating a Method or from the Extended Shipping Menu. The link is available in both locations. Please note that a new region must be applied to a Method to be used in shipping calculations. The screen used to define new regions is displayed below:

There are several types of custom regions available within CCNow Extended Shipping. These choices will carry through the shopping cart purchase process. The World Region type allows you to create country groupings that are not included in the pre-defined regions. Just name your new region and select which countries to include. Use the shift key to select multiple countries. The Country region type allows you to choose one country as its own region. The Country Region type can be used when you want to choose a portion of a country as its own region. The US Region type allows you to create custom groupings of US States. With the US State region type, you can create a new region from one US State. The US State Region type allows you to create a region from a portion of a US State.

New regions created here will appear in the Region list the next time you edit a Method. This feature allows you greater flexibility in setting up your Extended Shipping services.
