As you are aware that CBSE had introduced ‘Coding’ as a skill module of 12 hours duration in classes VI-VIII from the Session 2021-2022 onwards. The Books and teacher resources are available on the CBSE portal. The idea is also to simplify the coding learning experience by nurturing design thinking, logical flow of ideas and apply this across the disciplines. The foundations laid in the early years will help the students to build the competencies in the area of AI, data sciences and other disciplines. Exposure on Coding Curriculum is being built through Teacher Training Sessions with support from Microsoft from 11 th Nov. 2021 to 20 th Nov, 2021 as per the details at Annexure A. The purpose of these sessions is to prepare teachers to enable the future workforce to acquire data science skills early in their educational phase and build a solid foundation to be industry ready. CBSE had also introduced ‘Data Science’ as a skill module of 12 hours duration in class VIII and as a skill subject in classes IX-XII. The Books and teacher resources are available on the CBSE portal. The objective of this curriculum is to lay the foundation for Data Science, understanding how data is collected, analyzed and, how it can be used in solving problems and making decisions. The course covers the theoretical concepts of data science followed by practical examples to develop critical thinking capabilities among students It also cover ethical issues with data including data governance and builds foundation for AI based applications of data science. Exposure on Data Science Curriculum is being built through Teacher Training Sessions with support from Microsoft from 11 th Nov, 2021 to 18 th Nov, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM as per the details at Annexure B. The purpose of these sessions is to prepare teachers to enable the future workforce to acquire data science skills early in their educational phase and build a solid foundation to be industry ready. CBSE is hosting Teacher Training Sessions in partnership with Microsoft from 11 th Nov, 2021 to 13 th Nov, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM as per the details at Annexure C. These sessions are being held to enable teachers to promote authentic, real-world learning that promotes ownership and collaboration. Also, to deliver student centered learning that makes each student unique, including their interests, needs, culture, learning styles, experiences and challenges. Modern Workplace Program for Educators will focus on how productivity suite enhances workplace skills of school leaders and educators. It will also train the teachers on tools and techniques of AI to enable students to link these concepts to the real world. Learning from Anywhere (through Microsoft Teams) will focus on the collaborative platform of Microsoft Teams for teaching and learning. Hybrid learning assumes importance going forward and this session will help in deliver the same. Accessibility and special education: supporting equity in remote learning environment : this workshop provides educators with tools that facilitate students with disabilities to unlock their full potential by addressing the diversity of needs and support students with inclusive and personalized environment.
