education. We at CBIT provide better

academic ambience and learning

environment for our students and faculty. We believe in

creating and disseminating the knowledge and skill in

core areas through innovative educational programs and

developing a new generation of global professionals.

Various activities are organized throughout the year

to enrich students’ knowledge and faculty experiences.

Value added courses such as FDP, SDP, Quality

Improvement Programs and Industrial visits are

organized .Guest lectures, Seminars, Conferences and

workshops are inculcated as part of curriculum.

Noteworthy professors and professionals from different

universities and industries, entrepreneurs, are invited to

guide and interact with the students.

I commend and appreciate the efforts taken by the

staff and students to enhance the quality of academics in

From the President’s Desk, CBIT'Kavikireeti' Dr V Malakonda Reddy

It gives me great pleasure topen a message for another issue ofCBIT newsletter. Apart fromproviding quality education, we areimbibing our students with a holisticlearning experience useful for theircareer. With the support of an up todate curriculum, excellentinfrastructure, a team of

experienced and enthusiastic faculty, an ambitiousmanagement system, we have been providing technicaleducation of a very high quality in engineering,management and computer application.

Our aim is to create an atmosphere of innovation,enhance leadership skills and make every student travelbeyond the boundaries of textbooks. We consider it ourmoral responsibility to enable our students to learntechnical skills, imbibe qualities and face the challengesoffered by the new world order. As students are thefuture of our nation, the innovators of tomorrow, it is ourfervent desire that the years they spend in CBIT mustenable and equip them with the required skills.

A nation cannot scale its heights without science,engineering and technology. With the intention ofigniting the ‘Spark’ in the minds of our students, weintroduced “Sudhee”, a technical fest where it is aconglomeration of all the disciplines.

CARPEDIEM VII

Carpediem VII, the God of all events was a two day

mega extravaganza organized by Chaitanya Smruthi on

10th& 11th April, 2015. This two day extravagant fest was

full packed with all round entertainment. Verve –“The

Fashion Show” for the second consecutive year, set the

stage on fire. And, a myriad of informal events kept the

students entertained throughout. This chapter also

presented an esteemed list of conclave speakers, sharing

their knowledge and experiences in various fields, taking

Carpediem to an all new level. Also, supporting a noble

cause is the 2K Run which was a given to the fest.

The 27 year old Ukranian musician, DJ Omnia came

down to provide cool beats and raise the temperature at

The Resurrection. On the stand-up comedy front, it was

Kanan Gill in the house! Kanan gill, a Bangalorean

Youtuber, most prominently known for hosting,

“Pretentious Movie Reviews”, really set the bar for stand-

up comedy culture in Hyderabad and kept the crowd

entertained.

With love ballads like, Peeloon, Tumse Hi, Tum Ho, and

many more, Mohit Chauhan came down to Carpediem VII

with a mission, a mission to leave The City of Nawabs in a

spell, to enchant them with his melodies, and mesmerise

them with his croons. Carpediem as always lived upto the

expectations of everyone and was a great success.

LITERATI 5.0

Communicando, the Literary Club of Chaitanya

Bharathi Institute of Technology organized the fifth

edition of its popular fest ‘Literati 5.0 It was a two day fest

conducted on the 19th and 20th of February 2015. The

Chief Guest of the inaugural ceremony was Mrs. Vijaya

Pratap, a journalist and documentary film maker and the

Guest of Honour was Mrs Deepa Kiran, a story teller. Dr V

Malakonda Reddy, President, CBIT, Dr B Chenna Kesava

Rao, Principal, CBIT, Dr A Sandhya Reddy, Convenor,

Communicando and Mrs A Vijaya Lakshmi, Staff

Coordinator, spoke on the occasion. Mr. Shashank

Bhargav, the chief coordinator of Communicando, Ms

Sravani, the student coordinator of Literati 5.0 also shared

their experiences of organizing the fest. Transcendent, the

student Newsletter, was released on the occasion by the

guests and it was coordinated by Ms Kruti Mohan, Chief

Editor, Transcendent.

Literati 5.0-Imprint saw the conduction of a variety of

amazing competitions with attractive prizes. For people

who love to contemplate, argue and put their thoughts

across, The ‘Big Fight’ was organized. Concurrently were

organized debates in Hindi and Telugu, which as

expected were flyaway hits. Other competitions

organized were Mr. and Miss Literati, Meet the Press, The

Literati Quiz Show and Quick Flix. This years’ workshop

was on Short Films and it was conducted by the critically

acclaimed director Mr. Rahul Sankrityan, Winner of Maa

TV Short Film Contest ‘The End’. With more than a 100

teams registering, this Literati saw an unexpected

frontrunner in the form of ‘Whodunnit?’ a crime-mystery

solving game cum drama based in the Victorian Era. The

participants thoroughly enjoyed solving the riddles and

interrogating the suspects. There were informal events

out of which a funky photo booth was all that the

students needed to let their inhibitions (and hair) down

after two days of intellectual frolicking.

SHRUTHI 2015

Shruthi, 2015, the annual cultural fest of Chaitanya

Bharathi Institute of Technology was held from 12th to

14th of March, 2015. The Chaitanya Bharathi Cultural Club

(CBCC) took an active role in organizing various programs

as a part of Shruthi celebrations. After the inauguration of

Shruthi on day 1, there was a parade of various student

clubs followed by literary and cultural competitions like

Anthyakshari, Vocals, Dumb Charades, Young Orator, Spell

Bee, What’s the Good Word etc

The second day kick started with dhol and was

followed by the Dance competitions. The crowd was

awestruck when the star cast of film ‘Yevade

subrahmanyam’ came to the campus. Tollywood hero

Nani was the star of the night. The day concluded after

ILLUMINATI - the celebration of light. Dandiya was the

opening event for day 3. In the evening, the Institution

Day was celebrated. The chief guest of the day was Mr.

P.Mahender Reddy, Minister of Transport, State of

Telangana. Academic awards to all the toppers, sports,

cultural and literary prizes were given away on the

occasion. The placement coordinators, Communicando

team and CBCC members were given certificates as well.

Celeritas, the College magazine was released by the Chief

Guest. Other dignitaries who spoke on the occasion were

CBIT MUN - ICC

CBITMUN

CBITMUN has always been one of India's best MUNs interms of consistency in Debate Quality. Over the last 4Editions, some of the best MUNners in the country aregathering to be a part of this MUN.

What precedes this is an MUN of a smaller scale, but anextremely important cog in the Wheel: the InterCollegiate Conference.

The ICC is primarily a test to select the Secretariat ofCBITMUN, and the future Core Committee of the same.Not restricting it's function to being only an Intra CollegeEvent, anybody across the City can participate in the ICC.Although the event doesn't fall under the purview of atraditional MUN, it has been a test for the best inHyderabad; Should you win in ICC, rest assured, you'reone of the best MUNners in Hyderabad.

The Inter Collegiate Conference 2015 was held from4th to 6th of April. What was distinctive this year was theMUN extending to Monday. The event saw a participationof 70 of Hyderabad's finest, and the future of CBITMUN.Over three days, what ensued was a complete focus ontackling two issues; One of non-proliferation of Weaponsof Mass Destruction in a simulation of the Disarmamentand Security Committee, and another of restricting thespread of Tropical Diseases like Ebola in Africa.

For three days, ideas for practicality andimplementation of solutions were discussed, anddebated upon. The Secretariat was selected at the end ofthree days.

Delegates were visibly satisfied by what was offered at

the end of three days, and many were looking forward to

CBITMUN in August. Work has already started for the next

MUN, and here's hoping that the legacy endures for years

to come.

NSS UNITNSS UNIT of CBIT organized exclusive first year events

like Road Safety quotations, Quiz competition, Best out of

waste etc. in the month of January 2015.

NSS UNIT represented our college in the Safety Run

organized by the Cyberabad Police Department at

Necklace Road in the month of January, 2015.

NSS UNIT organized Safety week on March 9, 2015. On

this occasion Dr. B Sreedhara Rao, NSS Officer, CBIT

delivered a lecture on “Usage & Demonstration on Fire

Extinguishers” to students and staff of CBIT.

college premises.

Continuation Education Program

� An induction program was conducted for the newlyrecruited employees of Dr. Reddy's laboratories for a

batch of 51 students. The program convener is Prof.R.Sreedhar Rao and the coordinators are Mr.I.Balakrishna and Ms. M.Kalyani. By conducting thisprogram for a duration of 90 days a gross revenue ofapproximately 16 lakhs was generated.

� “CHEMSPARK 2K15” a national level technical

symposium was conducted by the Department of

Chemical Engineering, CBIT, Hyderabad under the

banner “SUDHEE 2K15” during 10-11 March, 2015, to

provide a platform for budding engineers to present

their ideas and develop their technical and

presentation skills. Key note address was delivered by

Mr. Eshwar Reddy, Ex. Director, Bulk Drug

Manufacturing Association. 72 students from various

colleges participated in four Technical paper

presentation and one poster presentation sessions.

As part of informal technical sessions, technical quiz

was also conducted. Ms.M.Kalyani, Asst.Prof. and

Ms.M.Mayuri, Asst.Prof. were in coordinators.

� An Expert lecture by Dr. Syed Naimathullah, Senior

engineer, Environmetal division, Qatar

petrochemicals, Qatar, UAE, on 11th Feb 2015 on “

Safety and Environmental issues related to

petrochemical industries”was coducted for 4Th year

students. Mr. I. Balakrishna, Asst. Prof(Sr) has

coordinated this event.

"Solid Waste Management for Sustainability through

utilization of recycled aggregate from different types

association with TEQIP-II on 13th&14th February

� The Department of ECE has organized a two day

National level Technical Symposium “Synapse” under

SUDHEE – 2K15 on 10th&11th March 2015. Dr. A.Vani,

About 200 technical papers were received and 80 of

them were selected for presentation in the areas

VLSI/Embedded Systems, Nano Technology,

Department of Physics, CBIT organized Two-Day NationalConference on Engineering Materials, Energy andEnvironment (EMEE – 2015) during April 24 - 25, 2015. Dr.N. Amrutha Reddy, Professor and Head, Dept. of Physicsand Dr. B. Linga Reddy, Associate Professor were theconveners of the conference. The conference wasinaugurated by Dr. V. Malakonda Reddy, President, CBITand Prof. K. Narasimha Reddy, former Vice-Chancellor,Mahatma Gandhi University, Nalgonda. Prof. K.Narasimha Reddy was the Chief-Guest of the inauguralfunction and delivered key-note address. The Guest-ofHonor Dr. N. Srinivas Rao, Secretary, Telangana StateHigher Education Council and Dr. B. Chennakesava Rao,Principal, CBIT graced the occasion.
