FACILITIES CROWD CONTROLthere are 4 gates provided for the visitors to the stadium 3 gates for public entry and the 4th is a VIP entry and a wall has been constructed with wire mesh that separates the viewers from the players

DISABILITYno considerations have been given for the disa-bled

SPECTATOR VIEWSthe spectators have clear views of the pitch and as such are able to view the game without diffi-culty or obstruction

SPECTATOR SEATINGthe regular gallery has 8 steps and has no chairs on it at all and there is no shade provided what so ever for the people throughout the stadium despite it being renaovated recently for the na-tional games

PRIVATE VIEWING there are air conditioned VIP viewing facilities in the 1st floor of the pavilion but the views are terri-ble unless the person is in the first row there are also viewing facilities provided on the outside of the pavilion but these have no shade what so ever provided though they are meant for VIPs

CIRCULATIONthough there has been consideration for the spectators and the VIPS there has been almost no consideration for the players who visit the stadium

FOOD AND BEVERAGE CATERING there is a single food counter in the stadium premises but is on the outside and small vendors may be allowed in to provide snacks though this is very much dependant on the vendors available

TOILET PROVISION toilets have been provided but they are built outside the stadium and this causes any visi-tors who wish to use them to exit the stadium

RETAIL SALES the galleries have stores underneath them and thus allow for some revenue to be gen-erated by renting these spaces to shop keepers though these shops dont add to the spectators experience as they have nothing to do with what goes on inside the stadium itself and dont sell merchandise for the stadi-um or the sporting events taking place

MEDIA there is an air conditioned commentary booth and media center for the TV report-ers but the views from these are once again poor so they must be moved outside so that they can do their job properly

ADMINISTRATIVE OPERATIONSthe admin offices are provided in the indoor stadium located next to this stadium though it could have easily been accomodated if another floor was added to the pavillion

ANALYSIS OF THE SITE

•The site is in such a way that there is very little space for expansion or for large parking spaces as it is surrounded on 2 sides by roads rail road on the third side and housing on the fourth side

•The site is located in an urban area people may use public transport to reach the stadium and might allow lesser parking

•The railway might cause some noise that may be a nuisance to the players

LINKAGES

•The site is a 48 minute drive from the nedum-bassery airport without any traffic •The site is located adjacent to the Ernakulam KSRTC Bus Stand and this allows for visitors from different districts to arrive at the stadium in a manner that doesnt cause excess traffic

•There are several hospitals in the immediate vi-cinity which is advantageous in the event of in-jury or emergency beyond the capacity of the services that will be provided in the stadium

•There are several hotels very close by to the site that may prove as a suitable lodging for the players or visiting officials or spectators

CLIMATE

•Kochi features a tropical monsoon climate, with no harsh extremities. •Temperatures range between 20–35 °C.•Heavy rains accompanied by thunder are common from June to September due to the SouthWest monsoon. •Light showers are experienced from October to December due to the North-West monsoon. •The average annual rainfall is about 350 cm with an average 132 rainy days annually; the bulk of the rainfall stems from the South-West monsoon. •The winds are moderate, with slight increase during summer and the monsoon seasons.
