Carry out replacement in the following order:

Tighten the parking brake lever.

Place wedge blocks under the rear wheels.

3

Loosen the wheel mounting bolts.

4

Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.

5

Remove the front wheels.

Replace both shock absorbers at the repair of your carCitroen C3 at the same time.

Unscrew the stabilizer link upper fastening.

Disconnect the fastener of the ABS sensor cablefrom the shock absorber strut.

Disconnect the brake hose holder from theshock absorber strut.

Unscrew the end fastening nut to the steeringknuckle.

Using a special tool push the steering rod endout of the steering knuckle.

Unscrew the ball joint nut.

Unscrew the wheel hub fastening nut

Remove the ball joint from the steering knuckle.

Remove the drive shaft from the wheel hub.

Unscrew the lower fastener of the shockabsorber strut.

Open the hood

Unscrew the upper fastening of the shockabsorber strut.

Remove the suspension strut.

Set the shock absorber strut on the springcompressor tool.

Compress the spring.

Unscrew the top fastening of the shock strutmount.

Remove the top mount, the support bearing andthe upper spring cup.

Note that when using a spring compressor, spring coils needto be securely gripped, compressing the spring on theopposite sides.

Ensure the correct position of the spring in the retainer.

Make sure that the spring coils tightly entered the lockhandles.

Remove the spring.

Remove the shock absorber dust cap and thebump stop.

Install a new shock absorber on a special fixturefor further mounting of the spring

Install the dust sleeve and the bump stop on thenew shock absorber

Τhoroughly examine the shock absorber mount, dust boot,bump stop. Replace them if necessary.

Before installing a new shock absorber you should pump itmanually 3-5 times.

Install the spring.

Compress the spring.

Install the top mount, the strut mount bearing andthe upper spring cup.

Tighten the upper fastener of the shock absorberstrut mount.

Install the shock strut into the wheel arch.

Tighten the shock strut top mount.

Close the hood

Tighten the lower fastening of the shockabsorber.

Mount the drive shaft into the wheel hub.

Connect the ball joint of the control arm to thesteering knuckle and install the ball jointfastening bolt.

Screw the hub nut.

Fasten the brake hose on the strut.

Connect the fastener of the ABS sensor cable tothe shock absorber strut.

Tighten the stabilizer link upper fastening.

Connect the tie rod end to the steering knuckleand tighten it.

Install the wheel.

Lower the car and working in a cross order,tighten the wheel bolts
